No, Hobbs Kessler is the closest thing we've had since Webb, and even he isn't all that close. You could argue Hocker was closer, but he had way more parallels to Centro than Jakob. Leo is actually closer to Jakob than Lex is with his 3:39 + 56 last lap, but that's a far cry from 3:31/13:02 and 4th/5th at Worlds.
Ngl he might be the next Nico Young. Runs real fast, finishes real high, just misses the medals. Seems to have similar strengths too imo.
A better comparison would be henrik because he’s not even top 2 in his family
if anything, Lex and Leo could be the next Michael Woods
they don't have the raw speed to make it at the international level
that's not a knock on them, they just don't have the s-tier body type/mechanics for running
they could be internationally elite climbers if cycling became their passion
