Am I wrong when I say that the Nike Streakfly should've just been labeled a tempo/workout shoe and have a different name?

I like it as a comfortable shoe that lets me get some of the benefit of supershoes/spikes without wasting their lifespan.

I think they're best for 3k effort though - doing 400s feels effortless and my feet aren't torn up

I've been super mixed on the Streakfly since I got them. Lately I've been using them for easy stride days as I've been rehabbing a hamstring injury and they're amazing for that, just jogging around for a warmup and then doing some accelerations down the straightaways. However I raced a 5k in them prior to my injury last year and they managed to feel both overly cushy and yet left my legs noticeably sapped for the last mile. Compared to my old Peg Turbos they haven't had that response/cushion balance but sometimes I have days where they really feel good. Weird shoe.

Yes, they are more turbo than fly.

Fantastic track workout shoe. Better than Vaporfly on the track due to lower stack height makes it more stable. Would never choose it to race.

'A tempo/workout shoe' is a really boring name for a shoe.

the streakfly rocks for general workouts, intervals, light tempos, etc...my legs aren't recovered from working out in them as good as the vaporfly but this makes sense, they are more of an old school type flat , your legs will work harder doing this

I don't think it was mislabeled, more like misdesigned. It seemed like they really did want something like the Takumi, and certainly hyped it up a lot, but the foam is just too spongy for a racer without something in there for stiffness (a shank doesn't count).

It sounds like Saucony did exactly what the Streakfly was trying to do with the Sinister, so will be interesting to see if people race in those.

Isn't the streakfly stack pretty similar to the original 4%? They could've easily put in a full or 3/4 plate if they had wanted, but didn't.

The Streak (Lt?) was a type of heritage shoe that always kept a certain amount of DNA from previous iterations. The streakfly continues this, but with the zoomx foam. The LT was marketed as a workout shoe, but was incredible at racing too. The streakfly as it stands, is definitely more of a trainer than racer, but that is by design. The 5k/10k label isn't necessarily wrong, but most athletes prefer a plate in super foam shoes.

It is absolutely irresponsible for Nike to slack off when it comes to marketing and product assortment. Sweatshop workers across asia depend on them to sell as many hideous disposable foot coverings as possible.

Too bad the denizens of Lets Run can't put half this amount of energy into supporting local shoe and apparel manufactures.

I feel faster and more efficient in the bulky, newish zoomflys than in the streakflys, and lots of people hate the new zoomflys.

I think the fact that I’m almost 180 lbs rn makes the carbon plate or shank the most important aspect of a super shoe for me. It honestly really confuses me as to why they’d leave that out of a shoe that was supposed to be an even faster more aggressive shoe than the vaporfly.

To me, the streakfly has become this weird niche shoe that I use for intervals that will have a jogging recovery and aren’t going to be faster than 4:00 pace.

How does this shoe compare to the the Nike Streak XC road flat and the Lunaracer 1 & 2's?
