There are two rounds of the 1500 at the Regional meets. First round of the 1500 at 6:30 pm and 10,000 at 9:10 pm on Day 1. On Day 3 the 2nd round of the 1500 is scheduled for 5:15 pm and the 5000 for 8:10pm.
What makes it odd, surprising, questionable, but maybe not crazy is she is seed #19 based on 96 declarations in 1500, while she is #1 in 5K (exlcuding the 15:03 non qualifier) and #3 in 10K.
Yes. And doing this triple *is* crazy unless her coaches know something we don't about her 1500m speed. Her PR is 4:12 altitude converted from 4:17. At the championships even if she advances her chances are low to make the final and she will have fresh competitors in all 3 events. Venters, Mazza Downie are likely very happy with this decision.

I never said I recommended this triple, just for a strong distance runner, it's possible, think Ches, Rupp. 1 meet at a time.
Regional
Day1: 1500 4:20 q, 10000 33:00 q
Day 3: 15000 4:14 q, 5000 15:55 q
2 weeks recovery and on to the hard part.
Whatyou say about the regional is reasonable but the hard part gets real hard. Day1: 1500 4:12 q, 10000 32:00 effort unless they becom sit and kicks which the Tuohy 1500 heat won't (14 4:11 and faster runners including Plourde and Tuohy) Day 3: 15000 4:12 might not place, 5000 15:35 might place with Valby, Tuohy and a bunch of 15:30-40 runners fresh (no heat adjustment)
But why even attempt such a feat when she could have a legitimate chance at winning ncaa 10k on fresh legs?
In Austin - I predict 10k podium, 5k scorer, and not advancing out of 1500 heats (and possibly not even advancing rounds if the west final is a sit and kick)
