Correct. When you combine a good running culture with the biggest student body in the state, you can reload every year. Until Mason goes the route of Central Ohio schools are splits into, say, Mason Central and Mason South, this will be the case.
Using Solon as a common opponent, Kilbourne (and therefore also Westerville North and Coffman) match up quite well with these guys. Kilbourne put 8 guys ahead of Solon's 4th and 5th at the preview meet, just like Jackson - with similar gaps. And I dont think either Ilg or Zuckett are ahead of Smith.
Given that... Westerville North should probably be ranked #2 or #3 behind Mason ans St X.
You think that Westerville North could jump that high after 1 week? It might happen but going from 15th to 3rd in 1 week would be crazy

That would be a big jump, yes. Maybe too much for 1 week. I guess I'm just saying that right now they're more impressive than Massillon Jackson, and MJ is right up there.

Yeah I agree for sure. That team alone is impressive. Add in Gabelman(who could be the state champ) and you’ve got a scary squad
Looks good. Definitely gonna be between Jerome and Jackson if St X doesn’t run everyone which they usually don’t. Definitely interested to see how Orange matches up against these teams. Their front 3 looked good at Glen Oak but the 4-5 was on the weaker end.
Nah!!! Scioto took down some elite talent placing 5 in the top ten at the Northwestern Warrior Classic. Can't count them out at any meet this year, especially with the ELITE Weston Day
Top 5-10 Boys and Girls teams (D1) after 2 weeks? Still very early as we know not every runner/team has raced yet (or only 1 meet).
My knowledge on the girls side isn’t as deep so I can probably only do top 5 without sounding like an idiot but:
Mason and Lakota West are for sure the top 2 atm. Beat everybody by a mile at Obetz. Davidson is probably number 3 even though they don’t quite look like Davidson just yet. And then from there just based off these first 2 weeks, the final 2 spots are a mix of Avon, Beavercreek, Loveland, and Perrysburg. Jerome and WestLake won’t be factors this year on the girls side, unless they haven’t been running everyone and I’m unaware of that.
On the guys side:
1. Mason
2. St X
3. Massillon Jackson
4. Dublin Jerome
5. Westerville North
6. Worthington Kilbourne
7. Chardon
8. Olentangy Orange
9. Hudson
10. Steele/Coffman
Top 3 are easy. Everyone saying that North is easily better than Jerome hasn’t looked at the postseason performances by these 2 teams as of recent. North hard faded last fall and placed like 10th at regionals after cracking the top 10 in rankings earlier in the season, while Jerome just missed the state meet as a team after everyone wrote them off due to their quite regular season. They know how to preform when it matters, and North hasn’t shown that they do *yet*. Kilbourne is an easy #6 after North since they were right behind them at PickN. Chardon is a sneaky #7 but they had a solid run last year and return quite a few guys. We’ll see what they have to offer. The last 3-4 are all pretty interchangeable since it’s still august but I loosely ranked them like so.

Do you mean the meet where a Darby freshman finished 3rd and beat all of Scioto's guys expect Weston? I don't think they'll be a factor.
And yes I'm putting Jerome ahead of W. North right now. In a huge meet, having a 9:05 (Sam) and 9:10 (Guerrera) guy in the lead group separates them from a team that will have only one guy in the top 20 at the Pickerington Regional (Gabelman). I may change my mind on this, but right now my money is on Jerome (Between these two. I still say Kilbourne has the highest ceiling).

I actually see big walnut in the top 10 I think you need to rethink this.
Ain’t no way Eli Lengls waterboy is on here. I actually do like the other guys list slightly better than my own now that I think about things a bit more. But get the Big Walnut trolling out of here💀
Fair point. Davidson actually surprised me at the preview meet, placing higher than I gave them credit for. I don't think they'll be horrible this year - just not the Davidson we're used to.
