Seriously. I don't follow the ACC closely but was perusing results tonight and was stunned to see Clemson on top of the men's standing. Remember, in November 2020, they said they were cutting track. That had to decimate recruiting that year. How did they get good so fast?
Clemson only won the Men’s ACC Track & Field Championship because the VT idiot who won the 400m got DQ’d for taunting the Tiger sprinter (going from 10 points to 0).
Because of the DQ, the Hokies lost -10 points and finished 5th in the team competition instead of 1st.
The Tigers gained +4 points and finished 1st in the team competition instead of 3rd.
I would imagine that young man has a well-deserved and difficult road ahead.

I know lots of 400m sprinters. Overwhelming odds that he feels he didn't do anything wrong.
Overall Louisville was the most motivated team performance for Men at ACC's. It looked like they really wanted to win it for Dale Cowper.
I know that some on this site don't like it, but you have to be impressed with the Women's team that has been assembled at Duke.

Duke has a big advantage because they can combine need-based financial aid with athletic scholarships. Low income recruits can get all of tuition covered with financial aid, and then a 20% athletic scholarship would mean they attend for free. Other schools are mostly relegated to recruiting in-state athletes because of lower in-state tuition costs.

Don't lump the entire team- some could care less about that dude. Winning a team crown for each other when the opportunity was golden was motivation enough.
Duke has found the recipe for success. Kudos to them.

I'm still trying to figure out how there can be disqualifications for taunting in what was described here as a low key event.
Nobody who has ever been to a conference championship meet would describe it as a low key event.
Virginia Tech blew the men's title Saturday but it sort of balances out for the undeserved indoor women's title a couple of months ago when the Duke anchor lost the baton one stride before the finish line.
