If she even makes it to nationals, she needs to heal her leg!

No. She's injured.
is this a joke? Not a super fan for either - think both are incredible athletes but Katelyn Tuohy is just miles ahead of Parker Valby - time and ability wise. That is stating the facts.

You’re cracked. Valby won the SEC against arguably the strongest competition in the NCAA - the Alabama women.
Tuohy won a 10K in a time that is slower than some people can walk a 10K 😂
😱
She did not look comfortable and tied up at the end. Chelangat mis-timed her kick.

Like in the XC championship? LOL! And that was before all the collegiate records KT set. If it’s a fast pace from the gun, Tuohy is the collegiate record holder at 15:03 which is 17 seconds faster than Valby’s PR. If it’s tactical, Tuohy is 12 seconds faster over 1600. How do you figure Valby’s going to smoke Tuohy? Show your work.
Here's the problem: Tuohy will just follow Valby for however long and then blow by when she sniffs the finish. I wish Valby had more finishing speed.
The title is Valby’s to lose. The “race” will just be a formality. KT should concede before they even toe the line.

You got to actually win a title first before it’s yours to lose. Now who has won 4 NCAA titles already and who has won zero?
Not with only one healthy leg, she’s not. I’d love to see another Valby-Tuohy showdown as much as anyone, but Valby is just not healthy enough for it. After watching Valby limp through her race tonight, I think the best thing for Valby is to take the rest of the season off, let her leg fully heal, and then start building her summer base once she’s back to 100 percent. I appreciate Valby’s willingness to gut it out so she can score points for her team, but it’s not worth it in the long run.

I agree.
At this point, unlikely that Parker & Katelyn will have another go at it at NCAAs . . .
Per KT's post-race interview last weekend at Sound Running's Track Fest . . . she/coach are leaning towards just the 1500 at NCAAs . . . in prep for the 5k at USAs in July.
Maybe one more xc battle but will see!

Valby is done for the season. It's obvious.
And I'm the "PEOPLE'S CHAMPION" guy who uses all of the exclamation points.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And even I must concede the end of a movement. The magic is over.
I truly hope they face off at the 5000m. rivalries are what make a sport, and there hasn't been a rivalry like this in college track and field in years.
for some reason I have a feeling the next time we see them run against each other is the XC Championships. (or Nuttycombe)

She is concentrating on the 1500 to dodge competition in the 5000.
Parker looked like she was limping in the last k
Neither will be in the race. Valby is injured - I think the SEC 5k probably scared the coach enough to hold her out of nationals. Tuohy's penultimate lap in her 15:03 was also a warning to the coach. She'll be running only the 1500 at nationals, and shooting for a good time.
It's official - Gjert Ingebrigtsen wasn't at Jakob's wedding
