Italy's Lamont Marcell Jacobs and the USA's Fred Kerley will meet in another high-profile Wanda Diamond League clash in the 100m at Meeting de Paris on June 9th.
Any sprint experts on here? Is this not insance by Kerley. He's now scheduled to run the 100m at three straight DLs - May 28 (Rabat), June 2 (Florence) and June 9 (Paris). Why do they even have the 100m at all 3? And why is he scheduled to race all 3? Or is it smart? Kind of like how Salazar had his athletes workout after a race. Just have a week of heavy racing where you pick up some $$ and then you've got a month to get ready for USAs (June 6-9 where he has a bye in the 100m).
I'm stunned that one is happening. I know Jacobs and Kerley wanted a lot of money to race each other. Doing it in Florence makes sense as Jacobs is Italian. I'm stunned they are also nwo doing it a few days before.

must be for money as so many 100m races will need a bit of freshening up after that. I am sure they know what they r doing if they choose to race that often in such a short period.

That 3 race stretch is no problem it won't hurt Kerley. Jacobs has been injury plagued for years, mainly because he doesn't know how to train properly.

saying the reigning olympic and world indoor champion doesn’t know how to properly train is wild

Not at all. I said the reason he is often injured is he doesn't know how to train properly. That fact is not mutually exclusive of his ability to still have won an Olympics and World Indoor. It means there is something he does incorrectly in his training that makes him injury prone. I know what he is doing wrong but I am not a fan of his, am not getting paid to correct his mistakes and do not desire to solicit payment to give him advice, partly because it is easy to get cheated when performing that type of consulting. If he really knew how to train he would also be the reigning World Outdoor champion. It is called "not living up to potential".

They’re all straight finals aren’t they? No different really from going through the heats, semis and finals for the Olympics which is over and even shorter time frame.
Asafa Powell a different dude in one n' done vs rounds.
Lyles is tricky since he usually gets good at the 100m late in the season(around USAs/worlds) but by then he is usually locked in on the 200 so we don't get to see the best of him. If Noah could run under 9.9 on June 9th, USAs gets real interesting. As for Kerley, might be good for him to get used to racing Overseas since Worlds is in Budapest. He can just cruise a 10.1 first round at USAs and then doesn't have to race anymore.
Distance runners take note: no competition dodging here. This is essentially an Olympic preview. Want people to care about the sport? Find your nuts and race the best.

Jacobs injured yet again. Did he injure himself bagging his groceries at the food store? Bending over to tie his shoes? Getting up out of his recliner to get a drink from the kitchen? He is injured yet again because he and whoever his trainer is this week do not know how to train.
