Looks like a pretty strong meet. Here are some contenders/storylines I've seen:
M100: Ferdinand Omanyala is gunning for the African Record with Kenny Bednarek and Marvin Bracy set to take him on
W100: Shelly-Ann vs. the clock
W200: Sha'Carri goes off as favorite here after organizers admitted to moving her out of the 100 to strengthen the overall event (in a bid to get DL status down the road)
M400: Emmanuel Korir is aiming for the Kenyan NR (44.18) vs. rising Zimbabwean Star Muzala Samukonga (43.9 in Botswana) and Vernon Norwood amongst others
M800: Emmanuel Wanyonyi opens up after an impressive 2k leg at World XC vs. Wycliffe Kinyamal (2nd in Doha) and no doubt a good deal of locals with 1:45/1:46 SBs
W800: Mary Moraa goes off as big favorite after a 50.4 NR in Botswana
M1500: Abel Kipsang (in top form) will defend his title vs. Vincent Keter, will be interesting if we see the unknown/unsponsored Brian Komen who won a recent AK meeting over Keter in 3:35. Haven't seen other big names announced for this one...
W1500: Faith Kipyegon's participation is up in the air, but I doubt it
WST: Beatrice Chepkoech vs. Jackline, Faith Cherotich, Pamela Kosgei et al
MST: Unclear who will be in this one, but I think I saw Kibiwot will be and you'd expect Amos Serem and others
M5000: Looks like Jacob Krop (absent from Adizero Road to Records) will be here to defend his title...unclear who else
W5000: Beatrice Chebet vs. a strong field including Margaret Kipkemboi Chelimo ,Taye and more

Here is the schedule:
Both 5,000s (B. Chebet, J. Krop) and the Men's 400 (Korir, Samukonga) will not be in the broadcast. Where the women's 1500 is bookending the schedule with Omanyala in the 100 makes me think Faith Kipyegon will run perhaps?40 -

Believe you are correct.
The 1500m Men's is a doozy. Reynold Cheruiyot (3:33 PB solo) vs. Abel Kipsang (1:44.6h recently) with Kamar Etiang (3:32.9 PB) as a complete wild card. Kipsang might run 3:31 again, but this time he'll have company I bet. I also hope the unknown Brian Komen (3:35 at AK Meeting 6) gets a chance. Looked pretty raw, but would be exciting to see.
The 800 hopefully has the teenager Kelvin Kimutai in it as well. His recent series at the AK #6 meeting was mighty impressive (1:47.96 heat, 1:46.74 semis, 1:45.17 win) all wins over 3 days. With Wanyonyi and Tim it looks like a World #1 mark should be achieved with nobody under 1:45 outdoors yet.60 -
Now that SAFP is out, they are trying to move Sha'Carri back to the 100. This pretty much validates the claim that SAFP was 🦆🦆🦆I don't buy the excuse about trying to get a Diamond league event. Sha'Carri should tell them to go kick rocks.

It's certainly been the most logical rationale going back to the the beginning over AK's explanation. That being said, Shelly-Ann is a better spectacle in the 100 then the 200 so if you're gonna have only one star in the two events might as well have her run the one where a World Lead is much more likely. So, them trying to move her back doesn't really change my view of it.
Kenyan #2 Samuel Imeta was another late withdrawal for undisclosed reasons. I know many are suspicious of his rise, but of course it could be anything.
I have not seen any mention of Brian Komen (1500) or Kelvin Kimutai (800) in any pre-meet press, which would be disappointing if the two standouts of the AK Weekend series don't get a fair shot in some faster races (without preliminary heats).50 -

Damn SAFP was really trying to dodge Sha'carri in her season opener
I think Sha'Carri should take the money and run. It's at altitude, she can run lower than she did in Doha if she executes well.

If I was the meet Director my plan (Before SAFP withdrew from the meet) would be to have them race each other preferably in the 100, I think Fans would rather see them race each other and not run separate races. A Long Time Ago Big Meets would have a 1500 AND A Mile and put the top 2 Men at The Time Sebastien Coe and Steve Ovett in the opposite race, So the Meet Directors did not allow them to race head to head, Everyone I knew wanted to see them race each other, I am sure as Competitors Coe and Ovett wanted to race each other, but the Meet Directors would not allow it, Why? I don't know?

Ah the politics of track of course. Good to see Elias Ngeny in as well. Ermias Girma should be an intriguing athlete in the 1500. U20 800m champ, and silver in the 1500. I saw he won a low key 1500 in Ethiopia so he appears fit after a so-so indoors I saw some startlists from this reporter unsure if redundant:

I buy it. A bunch of current Diamond Leagues have contracts with World Athletics that are expiring soon and WA will be looking at whether to promote Gold tour to DL and push down some DL to gold status. One of the criteria WA apparently care about - the average world ranking of the participants at meets. This is leading to some gold meets and some DLs hyper prioritizing world rankings and field averages for meets so even if someone is running lights out this year or are traditionally big, if they aren't ranked super high *right now* for whatever reason then they are finding it harder to get in.
Source: an agent friend who described trying to get athletes into the Rabat DL (who are apparently scared they are on the chopping block) as "an unmitigated **** show."
