Mia Brahe-Pedersen from Lake Oswego HS in Oregon ran 11.08 in the Boys Varsity race and WON at the Secure Storage Summit Invitational.
Her times are exceptional, and she’s still a junior. Do you guys think sub-11:00 is possible for her this year?

That wouldn't be legal if it were in the boys section, but otherwise, this is #5 U.S. hs all-time, #3 performer behind 10.94 and 10.98.
It really stands out that a yt girl from the affluent suburb of Lake Oswego whose hyphenated name that sounds like a law firm is the fastest girl in the nation. She doesn’t have a prototypical sprinters build either. Maybe all of the dissimilarities to your prototypical sprinter is her advantage.
She is legit and runs consistently fast all the time.
A real Renate Stecher type.
Is she really a girl or one of those Cali boy distance runners with a pony tail running in girls races?
JK by the way 😁
This is what we have come to. People on YouTube are debating if she is a biological female or not. Clearly she is but with so many bio-males competing as females these days people are asking questions that never would have been asked even five years ago.
Her 22.7 into a serious hailstorm is at least as impressive. If she has any kind of hops then she looks she could crush it in multis.

That is an understatement, but wow, good for her. Let's go.
Good for her. If she identifies as a boy let her race with the boys. I'm all for anyone running at the gender they identify as and this process a biological female can beat biological makes no trans women running as women is not a genetic advantage.
She is a GIRL. I MADE A JOKE. AND IN NO WAY WAS I REFERRING TO HER. SORRY IF I OFFENDED ANYONE.
But, she shouldn't be in a dudes race.
Isn't that against the rules?

It was a mixed race, the last couple of finishers in the heat were also girls. They set up the race this way so she would have competition to push her. And she crushed it! Watch the fist pump at the finish! She said afterwards it was the hardest effort she has ever put into a race, pretty obvious why.
Also, they had to get permission to allow the girls to run in the same heat as the boys. Not so much when boys want to race against girls!!! Wow! And there should be no questioning this as qualifying for one of the all time fastest girls 100's. It's absolutely 100% legit! Unlike giving the ncaa swimming title to a man who finished dead even against a girl, and their times were exactly the same, to the hundreth. And they gave the trophy to the guy!? What a joke.
Well for those with no memory or knowledge of historical aspects of the sport, let me take you down memory lane and see if you observe any similarities.

I have no personal memory of 1948, but yes I see the similarity!
3 names, same physique, looks like somebodies aunt that you better not mouth of to in the neighborhood, ALL woman!
Those poor boys didnt have a chance! They were checking heat sheets the day before hoping they werent in the "fast" heat!!!
