This really stupid trend of seeing how many colleges you can get accepted to is beyond ridiculous. No one should give two sh!ts about this. Any Valedictorian from just about any high school in America could get accepted to well over 3,000 colleges if they wanted to (there are ~4,000 colleges in the United States). Why the hell would anyone want to? It SCREAMS of insecurity if you ask me. News organizations that report on this should be ashamed of themselves. It shows ZERO understanding of what it takes to get accepted to college. I also cringe at least once a year when some news outlet (usually a local one) announces that so and so got a "full ride" to Princeton or some other Ivy League school. Um...ok...that just means they had financial need that was met all the way as Ivy League schools don't give academic aid or athletic aid based on merit.
How many colleges you get accepted to just means you applied to that many colleges. Stupid as hell. SOOOO much insecurity to apply to colleges you know you have no interest in attending...a waste of time too.
