currently have prs of 4:46 and 2:06, i run anywhere from 50-60 mpw. to qualify for my regionals i need a 4:41 or faster. every mile race so far, i feel like i almost go into autopilot on the third lap and drop pace and feel disappointed after the race i didn’t go harder
i have done the following workouts recently:
8x400 w/ 2 min rest in 67 average
5x200 w/ 3 min rest in 25-26
5 miles @5:56 pace @LT heartrate and effort
I know i’m fully capable of going sub 4:40 but mentally can’t find a way to push myself. tmr i race against a 4:24 and 4:35 miler. any tips on forming the mentality to go for broke and really leave it on the track?
