2012 Olympic Silver medallist, Nijel Amos 🇧🇼 has been banned by the AIU for 3 years, starting from July 12, 2022 for the presence of GW1516 from an out-of-competition testing on 4th June in Rabat, Morocco.
https://t.co/aih7xmcrXg?amp=1Word is a US athlete has tested positive in Tokyo, technically that is all the information we have. However, in this video the guy quickly waves his phone with the texts from his source. If you...
He needs to expose his network. Who provided him with that peptide and how to use it?
On one hand, yes I agree. On the other hand, SARMs are so easy to get. There's teenagers taking them on TikTok and telling you where to buy them. You can just google them. A lot are sold as "research chemicals" and not labelled for human consumption. Same way drug analogues and things like synthetic phenethylamines are sold.
Surely it would be better to just go train at altitude and run 120 mpw with good nutrition, physio etc rather than putting untested carcinogenic drugs in your body?!
It's interesting how many athletes are admitting to the offense now that you get a one-year reduction in your ban. That never used to happen. Amos seemed to play every card he had -- get the B sample tested, then get his supplement tested, and when neither of those worked, admit to it and take the 3 years.

At his age it surprises me...Maybe he thinks at 31 he can still put together results or get an appearance fee at a couple of places.

And that of course assumes that his age is accurate. He was officially only 18 when he ran 1:41.73 as you know to get Silver in 2012.
Whatever age he was in 2012, he came back, I think, nine years later to run 1:41 again, which was unprecedented. I was not in the least surprised that he was doping, though surprised he was popped.
Some more details according to the official report:
1. He requested to have his B-Sample tested - it confirmed the A-Sample. (September 2022)
2. He said it was due to contamination of a certain supplement - The supplement (one opened and one sealed bottle) was then tested for the proh. substance and it was not found. (February 2023)
