Just that. Where I live is already quite hot, and sunny, and will remain hot till october. Is it better to run with a hat or cap, to protect from direct sunlight, or without it to favour heat dissipation?
Discus. ;-)

If you have enough hair on your head then run without a cap.
I have no hair but don't like caps so I always put a lot of sunscreem on my head if running in direct sunlight.
Wear the hat, and sunscreen too.
Protects your skin, keeps sweat out of your eyes, won’t make you any hotter if it’s a good hat.
I probably have 5 different white running caps for the warmer months. I wash them after every run and they hold up fine.
How do caps prevent sweat from dripping into your eyes? Forehead sweat would still get there, no?
Any specific hats you like? I have a few cheapies the were either race freebies or on sale - some are ok, some suck.
I think it's time to buy a couple light, good ones. Any suggestions? Would rather not spend $80 on a douchy looking Ciele.
Hat. Have someone hand you a fresh one filled with ice every few miles.
There is a 23-page thread on the topic.
Under Armour Launch hats are my favorite. Very durable. I wash them in the shower daily then in the washing machine with my running laundry. Keeps direct sun off my head and face. Channels sweat away. Cost is like $25 on average.
I just designate an old hat my "running hat" until it wears out/gets too gross. Always just some old hat that fits well, never anything made of fancy sport mesh. I've never had an issue personally. Maybe if I was training for a marathon I might be a little more concerned.
+1 to not Ceile. I will judge you if you're wearing one of those.
I prefer a bandana folded like a headband and sunglasses. It solves the sweat in the eyes issue.
I wear a visor with a bill that's black on the underside. If you opt for a cap, get one that's light colored (white) with mesh and a slight gap between the head and the hair. If the cap fits snug to your scalp and pulls your hair down flat, air can't get inside the cap to cool you. I also use a sweatproof sunscreen on my face. I have to get tiny skin lesions frozen off my face every six months from 40+ years of running in the sun so if you want to avoid skin cancer, wear a cap.
I have a hat from Buff that I like. Some thin nylon-like material with holes cut for cooling.
Wouldn't really expect any of these to do much for sun protection beyond your scalp, though. You'll need something goofier like a bucket hat, or one of those old-man hats with neck protection.
Brooks makes some quality running hats that regularly go on sale for $15-$20. The Chaser hat comes in white. It's unisex, but is often wrongly listed as women's.
Mane I run in 100 degrees every day and that’s no cap
might sound weird but majority of sweat from my forehead is in fact coming from my hair. i have thick black hair and have to cover it up with a moisture wicking hat. i think path running has some quality hats
You know what the kids say...No Cap!

This depends on the hair color. I have black hair, which absorbs heat. Wearing a white cap makes it so much easier.
I've found that it is beneficial to have a high quality and light colored running cap if it is direct sun and not too humid. Even if it is 90 degrees if it is cloudy I'd rather not have the hat on.
I also run past a lot of drinking fountains and soaking the hat makes for a few minutes of utter joy until it dries out.
I run holding a lace parasol
I run in a tinman or very nice tc hat, it has actually sparked lots of conversation (probably with some of you losers) about pro running, especially when at the gym
