Nice of him to say he's not gonna make excuses after he already made excuses saying "oh, I only did it because there's a lot of pressure and I wanna be competitive and my mental health and wah wah wah!" Cheaters gonna cheat and hopefully by "move on" he means he's gonna take his talents to his local Home Depot rather than come back to any kind of competitive sport. If he'd actually been brave he woulda called out the fact that Tri is as dirty as a truck stop bathroom and named some names.
Not really an excuse, rather an explanation to his followers about his state of mind when he decided to dope. He's not asking for the punishment to be reduced; he's not claiming the test is wrong.
Within the context of positive drug tests, this is refreshing to see.

Nah that's an excuse in my book. so he can still look like a goody two shoes to his followers and get clout for being "honest." Bro even trotted out the ol' "I only started doping when I was struggling." Homeboy's likely been on more secret sauce than a Big Mac since he realized he could earn some cash doin' it. Y'all fell for the bait of his "no excuses" response but I'm seein' through it like grandma's underpants.
The only thing that does not ring true to me is that he is basically saying that he won PTO US without the use of EPO, yet he felt he needed to use EPO to be at the top.
Had he said that he started to use EPO in early 2022 and it explains why his season was so much better in 2022 than 2021, then I would have fully believed.
it may be true that he won PTO US clean, but then I don’t understand his logic/reasoning. Other than perhaps he had to give up too much to do this clean and he did not want to make the required sacrifices anymore, but still wanted to compete

Agree, almost. For him it should be: "I'd like to also apologize to god and my faith for being immoral" That would be full ownership for Colin, as he has openly praised religion in IG posts before, giving thanks. Positives share religion, cheating hide god's plan.
He references 2024. He is not an olympic track, draft legal racer. Never really was, even when he was short course focused (not fast enough to make a team) but he switched to long distance a couple years ago anyway. EPO sabbatical?
Before he started EPO, he won the PTO US Open last year. It was a breakthrough win and a huge pay day. If he really started EPO in November, there was no need to. He won clean already at the top level.
I respect the guy for owning up to what he did. He knows it wasn't right and isn't going to try to fraud his fans into thinking the science behind testing was botched. Hopefully he finds his way, one that doesn't involve breaking rules.
I don't think that approval is exactly warranted for someone who owns his positive doping test. It is also a convenient time frame, only November until whenever he tested positive and stopped competing, minimizing the damage to his career. Tri is dirty. Imagine the possibilities with this combination of d-baggery and cycling, with tons of sponsorship.
Just look at the workout he put up on his igram page:
30 minutes at 4:38/k + 4x30 s strides, 2x1.5M@3:13/k (5:10.5/M) (60 sec rest), 4x800@3:11/k (60 s rest), 6x600@3:06/k (4:59/M) (60 s rest), 15 minutes c/d at 4:38/k).
It always amazes me that despite it's popularity, people don't understand a core tenant of Christianity. People are Christians specifically because they are aware of their own depravity and evil. If they were good in the eyes of God, they wouldn't need a savior.

This. Pretty convenient admission that only helps him. If he wants to come clean, tell us the full story - who was all involved, where he got it, what specifically he got, how much he used, etc. But, seems like he is only going to admit enough to try and save his character.

Well, not even Lance Armstrong told the full story of which drug companies sold him all his PEDs and who he used for drug mules to transport them to all the countries he competed in. If Lance told the full story, he would get offed with a mafia hit. What do you expect this triathlete to do?
I told y'all the Brits are dirty! How is Lord Coeverup going to spin this one? Tainted Yorkshire Pudding? We should never have saved their limey butts at Agincourt!

Not sure why this got so many downvotes do people not see what’s happening?
it’s good he didn’t outright lie, though the timeline is hard to believe. Mental health is a real issue but people blubbering about mental health mental health so they can get virtual hugs and sympathy is actually getting old.
if you cheat lie and steal at your job and claim mental health, no one is going to feel bad. Why should we now?
Cheating degrades the sport and affects the mental health of others. plenty of people suffer mental health issues. They don’t resort to cheating. Alexi had mental health issues. She gets dragged on this website for becoming an influencer but I guess If she turned to cheating to keep up we’d like her?
im glad he’s serving a ban and have no sympathy for the choices he made.

Well if he admits to doping at the start of 2022, people will ask for the money back. It is amazing how many people get caught with in months of doping. I give him credit for not denying the usage. How much of the story we are getting though is unknown.
Obviously the big question is was Iden pushing the drugs and if so where did he learn it from? Secret of Norwegian training? Obviously we are off in speculation land. Maybe people like him and Shelby went rogue. Or maybe they are part of a systematic doping program...
