The course is not record eligible but Sara Hall claims she set an American masters record. Same schtick with Ryan Hall claiming “fastest American marathoner”. You think god is okay with this?

They counted The Boston Marathon in all the Statistical Sites All Time Athletics, Tilastopaja, IAAF etc UNTIL That windy Day in Boston (I think it was 2011) had the super fast times including Ryan Hall's 2:04.58 for 5th or 6th place Tilastopaja just stopped counting Boston 2-3 Years ago, Until then most considered Boston Slower Than London, Berlin ETC. Boston is basically where just about All The American Elite Marathoners Run, So not counting Boston is unfair to top American Marathoners, I still Count Boston, and IAAF/WorldAthletics has a Regular only courses and that does not have Boston Results And All That does include Boston.
So yes S. Hall has the Anerican over 40 Record overall, just not on A Regular course. I count it
Considering she ran it into a HEADWIND, yes I'm ok with it.
What if someone over 40 runs it in 5 years with a tailwind and beats her time? What if there is no wind? Where will you draw the line with being "ok" with it?

And theres a ton of athletes that run CIM, so we should count that? You can't just decide which courses are record eligible based on who entered.

Since this is a net downhill, point-to-point course, I presume that they also take official wind readings - is the allowable 2m/sec (like with the sprints)? Should we defer to David Katz on this?
So the years that there is a headwind or no wind , the results stand for record purposes, but with a tailwind they do not? Rojo, do you want to go back through ALL the results over the years to determine which wind condition applies to what year?
However, in this and age, if she wants to identify as a record-holder, that is her right. It is now the American way. Just as her husband is the current American record-holder from this course.
Officially it will not be ratified as an AR because of the net drop (limit is 1 meter per km) and while CIM has less net drop, but it's not record eligible either because of the point-to-point course profile and it exceeds the limit. Nevertheless, Boston is a harder course than CIM. She can claim it as a USA masters best and it won't really hurt anyone, but it doesn't really count. We should all be able to sleep at night.
