A great run by Hiltz and Rose. I almost picked Rose for the 2024 US Olympic team when we picked last week. Now I'm regretting not doing it. But what do you think of Hiltz's win? Dq or not?

Not.
the dq decision is made right after the race finishes by an official, not based on what the message board thinks.
Why would you think she should be disqualified? She passed into 2nd and 1st place on the inside, but I saw no contact.

Hiltz isn't trans, dbag.
Was it reviewed? Rose didn't protect the rail enough. With Whittaker, Willis, and Rose all with good form, the NCAA 800 will be very competitive this year. Nice job by Cranny as well, stepping down a bit from her comfort range. A PR for her, I think.

Rose was in the middle of lane 1 from what I saw, and Hiltz very slightly contacted her but I dont see a dq.
She definitely didn't have room to run inside (similar to Hodgkinson at Worlds last year) but I don't see a DQ.
Wow I hate this pronoun crap. The announcer said "they slide by Rose" and I was like, "What?! Two people got by Rose, how did I missed that?" And then I look at the results and realized he was "correcting" himself from "she" rather than actually referring to a second person. It's ridiculous that society is going along with this they/them nonsense. Identify however you want, but don't force everyone to change the way we speak English. Pretty sure the announcer makes the same "mistake" again at the end when the clip cuts out lol.
Anyway, that rant aside, I can't really give an opinion on a DQ from this angle. I'd like to see the front angle to see how much room she had on the inside. It looked like there was a little bit of contact there, but it may have even been after the finish line. Really need to see it from another angle.

This wasn't a professional broadcast. THe camera angle was in a terrible spot. There was PLENTY of contact.
While I'd REALLY like to se a straight on video or some more photos (to see if Rose drifted out and then cam back and pinched Hiltz), unless Rose pinched her, by the letter of the law, I think it's a DQ.
But some believe the "rubbin is racing" mindset is better for the sport.
I mean if I was coaching an elite 800 runner, I'd tell them to come off the turn and run down the middle of lane 1 so no one can come up on your inside and force them to go wide.
Rose did that perfectly. I'm glad Hiltz wasn't DQd here as the result doesn't matter and I want her time to stand. But at USAs or Worlds? This would be VERY interesting.
Let's see if more video / photos emerge.
Hiltz has protection as they can always cry “discrimination” if she’s DQ’ed
DQ, no doubt about it. Any runner who does that in a race should be DQ'ed. There was no room, she created the contact as she knew she didn't have enough race or gas to go the legal way.
P.s. She doesn't, or shouldn't, get a free pass because of how she identifies. That has zero to do with it. DQ, no doubt about it.

The major point is to force others to conform to their "rules", in a way similar to inflicting mask mandates when it was proven for decades that masks didn't stop the spread of aerosol viruses. Your discomfort and frustration is the goal, not a bug. Otherwise they don't feel they are "making a difference". Inflicting the political into every sphere is the key to societal control, and sports must be part of that, in their way of thinking.

Wow, no that I see a head on view, it looks like there was no excuse whatsoever to try to pass on the inside. She had a lot less room than Keely had at Worlds when she tried to pass Mu.

Can we move past this already? So tired of these same arguments when none of our opinions matter. Hiltz is XX and runs in women’s division. Let’s get over it already and grow up.
That being said, I’m leaning towards a DQ for that second photo posted. That was definite contact on Hiltz’s part.
