With 435 entries and lots of good runners is Lex's 13:43 good enough to get him in the "A" section?

wouldn’t be surprised if they are all different heats. 13:43 might not get Lex to the fast one. Plus 650 athletes for the 1500m. What are the odds that leo makes the fast heat?

He should at least be in the same heat as Nico, 3:40 is pretty close to 3:37.

At worst Leo makes the "B" section off his 3:40+.

I'd like to see Leo in the 5000. Good chance he could take down Rupp's record.

No way 13:43 gets Lex into A.

Leo might be able to sneak into A though with his 3:40. That's an above average college time

Only three NCAA guys had broken 3:40 outdoors this year when I looked at tfrrs this morning, so Leo should be up there. Pros and seed times from last year or converted from indoors could push him back a lot, though. Lex doesn't need to be in the fast heat of the 5000m to be pushed. As long as he is in a race with high 13:20s/low 13:30s guys, he'll be pushed. It's not even clear that he's back in 13:43 shape yet, after having run 14:00 last time. I hope so.

Bryan Clay is approved nationwide. Just look at the number of entries in all the distance races. Each NCAA region, east and west, takes 48 qualifiers. So if you're looking for the perfect place- ideal temperatures, low humidity, and good fields to get a qualifier in a distance race relatively early in the season, before you have to worry up conference meets the place to be is..

Clearly he wants to be a professional runner. NAU is the best school in the country to achieve this goal.

They take converted Mile times and this indoor times are insane. 3:40 will be third fastest heat

The Young brothers all racing is very intriguing.

However, given the hundreds of entries in the 1500, there are a few eye-popping names buried in the list that apparently have gone unnoticed.

An alternate thread title might have been this: BTC opens 2023 outdoor season at Bryan Clay Invitational.

Look again at the men's 1500 entries.

Alphabetically, you will find:

Grant Fisher . . . Evan Jager . . . Thomas Ratcliffe . . . Cooper Teare . . . Kieran Tuntivate.

Also . . . Elise Cranny in the 800.

None of them are double entered at Mt. SAC, so this is their rust-buster before going up to Park City for the teams annual spring/summer camp.

Nico will annihilate both of his brothers. Lex and Leo are in for a rude awakening.

Explain to us how they are in for a rude awakening? Is it because theres going to be difficult competition? I don’t think they care that the competition is going to be tough. If they did then they wouldn’t race high profile meets like Bryan Clay. Lex and Leo are racing at Bryan Clay because racing against other fast competitors will bring the very best out of them. Is this not what they want?
