As far as I can tell this makes him the first high school (yes, jamaican, not US) athlete to ever run a wind legal sub-10 100m.

Can't find that 9.99.
But....
He sure looks the part, amazing the speed from that island, simply amazing.
How does one look the part? Serious question.
When was this?
MEGATRON NFL WR sure looks the part
Um, Maybe his fast start?
Maybe his smooth form?
Maybe his drive All 90m only to ease up at the end a little?
Maybe his Focus during the race?

He is 19 though.

So he took "stay in school" to heart.
How many sub10.00 sprinters has Jamaica had? Yep, curious.
Then there was Dennis Johnson who tied the 9.3 world record for 100 yards 4 times in 4 meets.
he's a month younger than knighton... think knighton can go sub 9.9 if he really tried
Seems a bit old for high school but maybe things are different in Jamaica.
He is in 6th form at KC so education wise he is pretty solid. However, you and others that comment on his age are being very disingenuous. There are many, many kids in US schools that graduate at 19. My daughter's HS has 2 18 yo juniors on the track team. Football teams are littered with 19 yo Srs., so pretending it's not happening here and only in Jamaica is laughable. Having said that, he should have taken up one of the many offers he had last year but for what ever reason he decided to stay in school. His choice I guess.
Nothing wrong with his age, but the HS record thing is overblown. If we’re going by edge, a few guys ran 10.00 at nearly the same age.
Trayvon Bromell 9.97 ~18yrs 330 days
Trentavius Friday 10.00 ~19yrs 30days
Letsile Tebogo 9.96 ~18yrs 330 days
Erriyon Knighton 10.04 ~18yrs 45 days
It's going to be fun to see him race at the Penn Relays in a few weeks

Nice list.
Guy has limited upside, needs some speed. I like that furious turnover, like Omanyala.
And his name sounds Nigerian or something, what’s the deal? Maybe if he is a foreigner he will be able to compete in Paris if he doesn’t make the JAM team?
Or Kenyan?
Apparently, the kid doesn't share much info about his family as he's rather private. But he was born in Jamaica.

I mentioned his age. Actually graduating HS at age 19 is not at all the norm in the US. Anyway I mentioned it and NEVER implied there are no 19 year old HS kids in the US but often these kids in the US are slow mentally or maybe their parents are trying to give them an advantage. It is extremely aberrant, or at least it always was.
Here's the vid of the meet where Tebogo crushed that 9.91, with Nkrumie coming in for silver.
These top 3 guys, Tebogo, Nkrumie, and maybe especially Boonson, who is super-young, are interesting to follow. Clearly Tebogo is in the lead, but the others are coming. Crap start by Boonson in the final. He will be coming for Nkrumie, who really needs to improve his maintenance and race distribution.
