Fact is 6 people died yesterday . That brings the total to 376 since Columbine and absolutely nothing is going to change. Nothing. This total will grow and there will be more anger and nothing will be done. I am pretty upset but we don't need thoughts and prayers. We need change and policies.
Did I mention 30 people a year are killed by dogs?
Even 1 death is horrible but it is wildly dishonest to pretend this is an epidemic.
This shooter planned to shoot up a different school. She determined there was too much security that the other school an opted for the school with less security.
The easy fix is more security not trying to pull 400 million guns out of circulation.
Listening to the people in this thread, it appears to me the solution is so simple: we need to outlaw insanity.
What's that you say? We can't legislate away insanity? Dang ok, well maybe we should just make it so that you can't buy insane automatic rifles like the ones used in all of these mass shootings.
Also, I hear people like MTG advocating for more guns in schools and for teachers to be armed. That's fascinating. If we trust teachers to have guns in school, we should also consider letting them be responsible for picking the textbooks and novels in our kids' curricula. Wait, what? The same voices have been attacking teachers for picking certain books over others? Ugh, this is confusing...

Let's say we banned all guns, and within a yr some trans lunatic stabs 6 people to death or detonates a bomb and kills 40, or goes haywire in a vehicle and runs over 50 people at a parade or playground. Can we have the guns back?

The data conclusively shows that handguns are used in the vast majority of school shootings and mass shootings.

Yes, but, there's that empty "change and policies" again...
Change and policies regarding how we treat criminals? how we give insane people free reign? gun ownership by criminals and the insane?
