Julien is in good shape from what we gather on his Instagram account but good shape of around 208 to 211 is not good enough for an elite Marathoner these days when it takes 205 to 2:07 shape to win most races.
No worries. I'm sure there'll be plenty of doped up east africans there ready to cheat their way to victory and steal thousands of Euros. I'm sure the thinking there is they can catch some of us but we got numbers so they cant catch us all
He will not come back to his former shape when he ran European records at 10km and Half marathon. Sad to say but that is the truth. He NEVER learns from his mistakes. Competes during training session and never have any extra gear when it comes to racing.
Jimmy Gressier and Yeman Crippa has taken over the throne (they actually did that a few years ago, but I was hoping Wanders would learns from his mistakes - multiple injures, overtraining and bad excuses just before/during competition...)
I don't think he's finished yet and he has invested so much in Kenya including recently building a palatial home in Iten. He's the King and leader of his training group which includes several world-class Kenyan runners, Bonny Kibiwott, and German 206 marathoner Amanall Petros. I think Wanders still has 5 to 10 years of good athletics left in him if he can get over his unfortunate injuries and illnesses which he has suffered from for the past two years.
This. Wanders is an obviously doper. Always inconsistent too, no surprise he pulls out. He's able to do double workout days or back to back workout days due to the use of EPO.

You know nothing about training.
And you know nothing about Wanders if you think he is inconsistent. He has been consistently mediocre for a long time now.
I ran close to a 4 flat mile bud. Wanders is an obvioys doper. I'd bet 500 racks on it if the truth would come out but of course only 1% of these EPO cheats actually get caught. No wonder Zane took his chances but he's not too diligent or bright either.

Steve- you seem to have a good running resume and for the trainings have run the hard yards knowing what it takes.
What is your suggestion with doping? The most recent and the past cases you never hear the follow up of PED supplier who rarely gets penalized straight away. If athletes are always going to be put on blast then why not be forthright?
Is this because agents, coaches, doctors have ties to usada, cas? The bio passport has made great strides in that it can objectively discern between en/exogenous hormones, synthetic/non synthetic epo.
It was a "strange" marathon - 8 guys broke 2:20 but top three where 2:07-2:08 Marathon | Men 1Petros, Amanal (GER)7H--2:07:022 2Chirchir, Denis Kipngeno (KEN)--2:07:17 3Kibii, Fredrick (KEN)17H--2:08:09 4Maiyo, Jonathan Kiplimo (KEN)435--2:11:33 5Kiboy, Geofrey Kipsang (KEN)15H--2:11:42 6Birgen, Amos Kiptoo (KEN)93H--2:13:09 7El Ouartassy, Mustapha (MAR)1030--2:19:11 8Mutiso, Benson (KEN)98H--2:19:12 9Fletcher, Ben (USA)1235--2:22:41 10Schwippel, Tim (GER)18H--02:23:59
