I usually can just do 5-7 pull ups. Then I started to go to gym a lot. I then could do 15 pull ups. But one day before gym, I ran 5k warm up and could only do 10 pull ups.
Now I have returned to full running training and again can do just 5-7.
There's always the slow you in the bunch. You cannot understand subtle. I was trying to be less than mean. Ten pull ups for an elite athlete is not impressive.

One thing I've learned from this site is many people lie about the number of pull-ups they can do. Or they do them really fast with sloppy form and lie to themselves.
He wasn’t stopping at 10. He had plenty more left in the tank by the looks. Also they were pretty wide pull-ups which are distinctly harder than a narrower grip.

I can do 16 pull-ups. 10 seems pretty good for a pro distance runner. In my high school, we were all terrible at pull-ups despite our coach making us do them twice a week.

You're right, 10 legit pull-ups is good.
10 with good form is excellent. Most people are indeed sloppy. I've been weight training in addition to recreational running for 15+ years and when I was my strongest, I think I could do about 15.
Roger Federer claims he coupdn't even do a single pull up (at least at one point well into his career, he may well have improved since), no one is accusing him of not being an elite athlete. Pull ups mean jack in isolation. You could be able to bust out 15 OAP's and be bottom 5% in everything else.
