to put old youtube in perspective, old Bolt's Beijing 100m record was probably seen by a billion different people within at most a year, on means other than the internet.

A youtube "view" can be as short as 3 seconds, counting people that land on the video by mistake and are slow to navigate away, or simply ignore it.
