Hard to say. Yes, she got caught, but she did manage to break records and make 6 figures for a couple of years, and gets to keep it all. I bet it was at least financially a net plus (especially if she soon gets a real job).
They spend a LOT of the pod talking about "living in the present" he quotes a lot of self help grifters, I mean gurus, and asks her about her thoughts on those quotes. I think he thinks he's having a deep conversation but the reality is that he's just asking painfully boring questions and ignoring the elephant in the room.
She talks about how her boyfriend moved in with her and they got a dog which made her see she's a cat person, and she's getting a degree in Sports Performance and Psychology hoping to be a mental skills coach, and "make the sport better". She said the words "sports psych" popped up to her on a run when she was thinking about what she wanted to do afterwards. That's really it. It is not a good or engaging episode.
The one and only way she can make the sport better is to tell the truth. What did she take, who provided it to her, and for how long has she been doing it. That's the only way. No one wants to take mental skills advice from a runner who cheated her way up the ladder.
Also, don't even get me started on someone who STILL does not have a job after two years, and who is now paying for graduate school, who grifted money from others to pay her legal bills.
Reminder that the "evidence" of her doping was extremely weak. She's certainly cleaner than the Kenyans and EPOpians she competed against.
Let's not play the race card huh. If the tests are not accurately testing for peds then the results are going to be way off for everyone, regardless of their skin color or country.

Let's be honest here. She was caught roided up, which is easy to prove and quantify. It's not one of these cases like Epo where the experts debate how the bands look like or an ABP violation where they argue how out of the norm the hemoglobin was.

The evidence of her doping is literally a positive drug test, where it was nearly twice the legal limit. They did what they could to spin it into a "trace amount" but it was NOT a trace amount of nandrolone.
Shelby was a bottomless pit of improvement for years. Even with drugs coursing through her system she was never good enough to take on some of the top level East Africans, that's just lack of talent and discipline from her.

Wait, she’s still not working at all? I guess she’ll try and ride this thing out for the full ban and hope her boyfriend feels generous.
Doesnt she still get paid by Nike?
They wouldnt terminate her contract because they "believe her"

I'm curious if anyone here would hire a convicted doper at their company. I know it has happened, as people are allowed to move on and make a living. Just wondering if any of you personally would.
I know someone who was busted, claiming accidental use via supplements, and then suspended for a full season of college football (Ivy League). Later was named captain of his team, moved onto an Ivy MBA, doing well ever since. Didn't seem to slow his stride in life at all.
