He raced at youngstown state in February at one of their open meets. He ran 47 there. The whole place cheered for him and he stood up on the bleachers when they announced his time. He legit looks like a 9th grader. Very impressive.
Probably the most incredible performance of the weekend. From what I can tell, he was born in 2008 which would make him the proper age for 9th grade.
If he is still 14, he might have a world age record even including outdoors. Almost certainly indoors, regardless. Insane. We need more info on this kid.

Oh, BTW the age 14 listed record is 46.96 by none other than Kirani "King" James!
That's the previous heat. Wilson's race is actually at 9:48:59. What really impressed me about him was not just that he looks his age but that he ran a really smart race. The leaders got out sub 22, he hung back, and then he smoked them in the last 100m. He'd make a great 800m runner as well. Reminds me in terms of level at this age of William Reed, a Philadelphia phenom back in the late '80s, who was running 47 as a frosh while holding his breath. This was 46.67 indoors, which is particularly impressive, a 0.7 s drop as well. I would not be surprised to see him break 46 outdoors.
This might be the most positive thread I've ever seen lol
The praise is definitely well earned, that's an insane performance for a kid who looks like he has a lot more to give. Here's hoping I search this kid's name in a few years to see the progression of the guy who broke the HS record.
Re-watching the race, I am struck that he really looks like he is four years younger than his comp, but he uses his arms low like Godwin...maybe something to that for 400? results in lower knee lift (esp in Godwin) but maybe more efficient overall?
