IMHO she is running at a time where her main rivals are very injury prone. She is not yet revelant at the elite level, but it looks like smooth sailing on the NCAA stage.

She has no control over what happens to her rivals though. Not her fault they aren’t able to line up.Staying healthy and able to compete is all part of the sport.
It’s not possible for a 15:15 runner to run 8:35. A lot of LRers can’t grasp that not all PRs are created equal.
You're still a 15:15 runner til the timer says otherwise. But I believe she is only 15 seconds or so behind Monson at this point so she will dip under in 2023 as long as she stays healthy.

Katelyn ran 4:24, 4:24, 4:23, Monson and Mclean ran 4:23 and also, KT is only 10 seconds slower at 3k vs the best american distance runner right now, Monson.
if she goes pro now and starts training at altitude ... what happens to the 10 seconds??
good luck to the pros, srsly good luck to them

By your logic, Nico Young was a 2:06 800m runner until his freshmen year at NAU.
Wiley won 5 but the insecure Tuohy fans pointed out the times. When Tuohy runs slow, they point out the win. When younger runners are faster than her, they say she is faster. When older runners are faster, they say she is younger.
