"There will be no personalization of signed books."
I pass.
It's always been about mind control and submission. The whole issue was the brainchild of the intellectual class, they are ALWAYS at the forefront in the destruction of human rights so of course at Harvard they'd still be married to the masking idea 3 years later.

Unbelievable
It’s honestly bizarre. Even here in Boston, where people were hardcore mask religious, I haven’t seen a mandatory mask outside of a doctor’s office in a year and relatively few people still wear them anywhere.

Eff Des Linden for her compliance too-- by far most of Boston rejects masking as it always should have. There are dozens of bookstores, bars, other institutions she could appear, and be with people as free, rational thinking woman - athlete - book hustler.

It has nothing to do with blue states...the vast majority of events in the entire country are not requiring masks. In Boston, for example, every Bruins and Celtics game has about 95% of attendees choosing not to wear a mask. It's very, very odd that any event would require a mask. Our society is past that point.
the whole mask thing was always incredibly stupid. How could anyone actually believe that these dirty scraps were filtering f*cking viruses. It is genuinely mindblowing that anyone bought into it
So dumb. The "pandemic" (which is just a cold if you're healthy) has been over for almost 2 years
The amount of the rabid outrage on this board and elsewhere over a mask mandated event is laughable.
Who cares. Don't go if you don't like the rule. Why make a post about it?
I work at a place with contracts still in play that were signed in 2020. NOTHING will stop production, and masks will be worn as to help prevent business shutdowns. We still wear masks in the building.
No big deal.
I am very happy with this decision. This gives me a great excuse not to go. Faux relevancy is getting old.
Covid should never have shut down businesses. It's just a cold if you're healthy. We never wore masks for the common cold before.
Novel idea: How about, if you’re sick, you just don’t go to public events so the rest of us don’t have to wear stupid masks?
If it upsets you that much to wear a mask then don’t go.
I’m sure Des won’t mind.
Who cares? I might have had Covid a few times this year, but I didn't test so I wouldn't have to limit my activities.
I felt mildly sick but nothing more.

I agree with this. The last couple years have been chasing relevancy for Des. Each one gets even more cringeworthy.
1. Destober
2. 50k in a paced non race setting.
3. A book.
4. A podcast
Anyone of these would have been a cry for attention. All of them together is great sadness to a once great story.
Nothing against her personally, but take away that extremely terribly weather day in 2018, and this book or the signing wouldn't be happening, period. She's an opportunist and is cashing in on wherever she can get the cash.

Yeah, definitely no chance a professional runner is just being cautious at an event two weeks before she’s running a marathon. This definitely has to be part of the Illuminati’s 3 year campaign to destroy human rights. OMG! 50 people having to wear masks at a book signing. This has to be by far the most horrible human right tragedy in human history.
