Who’s saying high mileage doesn’t work? Especially for the marathon.

What's his mileage like these days?
I know he once ran 190 but I assume he runs around 150 regularly
Question is why don’t pros try to build towards it? Many sub elites hit 120mpw while working part/full time, not sure it’s good enough for a pro marathoner unless their body can’t handle it.
I guess .... even counting his time today his is just an also ran in international running
Doh!
He is in Canada.
170 km and not miles.
170 km = 105 miles.
Everybody knows that high mileage works…………
……………..if you can avoid getting injured.
Its not so easy for most mortals.
No, believe or not he’s running 170 miles a week. After his 4th place at World Champs this past summer he revealed he’s been doing triples several times a week on top of lifting and double workout sessions. Guy’s an animal.

C Levins shows high mileage works for what? If this site is a fair representation of U.S. and U.S. & Canadian coaching philosophy, I sense too much copying of J I - type training in U.S. high schools and colleges. Are U.S. high school and college coaches going to encourage 14 to 23 year olds to up their mileage because C Levins raced 2:05:xx Marathon today? In most high schools in U.S., 800m to 3200m athletes train as a group. Chasing 5000m, 10000m and Marathon medals will hurt 800m medal probability.
Now listen carefully,...I have never told that high mileage doesn't work. How could I say that when thousands of runners have succeeded with that during history? What I say and practically do is to show and prove that relatively low mileage works at least as good as high mileage if the runner knows how to perform it perfectly.I'm glad for C.L s sake he succeed with his extreme high mlleage, but we all know 150- 170 mpw had broken the majority of us even if training fulltime. 🧙♂️🇸🇪
Actually, he would run a lot faster if he followed the training recommended by the High School trolls on the Seth DeMoor thread.
Yes and his actions include running a race like Tokyo and going out with the fast early pace and sticking with it.
If you didn't watch the race, watch it. The Flotrack coverage sucked as usual- there was no audio for quite a while then some monotone fast talking guy came on. But, he DID call the race and he was knowledgeable.
The major flaw (and this is on the Japanese TV coverage not Flotrack) was at about 40K with a great race with a lead pack of about 5 guys, they focused on the Japanese guy in 7th!
The commentator kept saying- Hopefully we can go back to the leaders. LOLOL
But, Cam put it on the line and stayed with it.
You never hearing about Cam Levins says more about you than Cam.
Easy answer. A lot of marathoners have run 2:01- 2:05 on less mileage and they prove there isn't a need of extrem mileage like this.If you remember what e.g Canova has told here you can only build your aerobic house to a given individual level, then it's more a question of improving the lactate threshold and long speed ability.🧙♂️🇸🇪
Not only does high mileage works, he posts all his main workouts on Strava. So there's no excuse runners in the US with similar talent as him are only running 2:09-2:12.
And no altitude, right?
Because you know nothing about distance running.
Copenhagen Half - 57:00 pace requested for Aregawi(2'42"/km). Ingebrigtsen 100% in it
Rumour in Norway that Jakob will run Copenhagen Half on Sunday.
Might the women's AR fall at the Chicago Marathon this year?
Grant Holloway won't race DL finale due to $$ dispute - "Shame that they doing athletes like that."
