Any runners on here from New Delhi, India?
Moving there in July and looking for people to connect with. Nehru Park looks like a decent spot to run.

Sorry no.
i've never been but how about the smog situation?
I love Delhi, but for running it is one of the few places I stick to the treadmill.
Well I am from Delhi. Here are some tips-
Avoid wearing split shorts Tank tops are okay.
Places to run-
Aravalli Biodiversity Park near Vasant Kunj- Around 3 miles of gravel trails with some rocky sections and hills. Very well maintained. My go to destination
Nehru Park-Around 1.2 km of synthetic track- Fairly populated with athletes so you can wear whatever you want)
Chanakyapuri Embassy Road for long runs
Other parks - Lodhi Garden, Vasant Vatika, Thyagraj Park
Avoid Sanjay Van - Not maintained and many stray dogs
Most of the parks have red gravel trails.
For track- JLN Stadium and Thyagraj Stadium; No indoor track in delhi
BTW where are you planning to shift?
Ran there a few times when I was there on business. I really don't know Delhi that well though. A previous poster listed some parks and places to run. I would try those.
Your quote: "BTW where are you planning to shift?" This may be Indian English terminology - what do you mean exactly? Does it mean "when are you coming?" or "where will you stay?" or something else?
Have worked there for a year. I primarily ran on the treadmill but would run at Aravalli Biodiversity Park as yuvirayz stated.
I mean the location where the OP will stay.
Thanks for the reply Yuvirayz.
I will be living in the Chanakyapuri area so the embassy road and Nehru park seem like some good options.
Any running groups in that area? I am a 2:49 marathoner.
How can “where” possibly mean “when”? If he said “where are are you planning to shift to?”, it’s both grammatical and should be easy for any English speaker to understand from the context even if they normally use “move” instead of “shift”. Dropping a terminal preposition is pretty common in American street speak too.
Running groups in India are mostly for joggers, so its hard you will find someone of your caliber.
Don't try to get a coach in India They will all push you into low mileage bs.
Oh, man. I was in New Delhi a few days ago. I wish I had seen your thread earlier. Maybe you could look for a connection on local forums? I found a man on a news portal. I saw he was looking for someone to have a run with, and I replied to him. We spent two weeks running 6 miles every day for two weeks.
I believe Ghost1 is an expat and travels around the world. Some cultures have spelling differences, while others use different phrases
