As recently as 2017, the NCAA mile record was Lawi Lalang’s 3:52.88. That time would make him the #6 guy on the 2023 Washington Huskies. That’s a bit misleading though – Lalang ran his 3:52.88 in 2014, an era before supershoes. With them, Lalang’s record would be worth 3:49 or 3:50.
