How does it work for the dmr? Do they have to submit the dmr lineup as well?

No they submit a dmr, deemed to be that which ran the time, but they can change - it is in the technical manual I believe

Don't have to submit exact team, does not have to be team that q'd.

for the dmr
1. Only one qualified relay team per institution may be declared. That relay team’s declared performance mark will be used for selection and seeding purposes. All other teams on the descending order list from that institution must be scratched.
2. A relay replacement is an institution’s student-athlete already accepted into the Championships in either an individual event and/or a relay event (Rule 7-7-2).
3. A maximum of four (4) relay alternates may be declared separately, but not later than the close of packet pick-up at the Championships. A relay alternate is a student-athlete not already in the Championships in any event.
4. The four (4) members of the relay team who actually competed and earned a qualifying position will be the ‘declared’ relay team for that institution and will be the only individuals for which NCAA Championship travel reimbursement will be provided. NCAA travel reimbursement will not be provided to relay alternates, even if they compete in the Championship.
5. An athlete on a declared relay who is replaced with a relay alternate or substitute may still compete in any event(s), at any time, in which they had previously been accepted into the meet.

Gee...Im thinking that relay alternate non-reimbursement isnt going to be much of a hinderance to those that recieve BIG, SEC etc network funding.

Probably the most pressure put on a coach is making sure you got it right before hitting that declare button. I hated it but always had assistants double check to make sure I got it right. Not like you just have your media guy submit your roster and jersey numbers for the game.

Nah, it’s probably not that simple, if she has already been ailing with a ‘niggle’ on the mend, for weeks now. We outsiders don’t have a clue.

They may have decided to hold her back at Conference at the last minute, not sure going in, on its status. Or she’s wrecked and the declaration was just a formality. Same for Cook.

But maybe some of you out there following social media have more info on either?

This is the smart decision to have Tuohy run the 5k/3k double especially in light of the meet being at altitude and the unknowns around that. Looks like plenty of alternates for the DMR so someone will sub for her. Maybe next year with some help coming from the NY high school recruits that are mid-distance runners. Boss lady Henes knows best!

Or, maybe they suspected one and were being cautious, who knows. But the good news is, she most likely did not have one or she wouldn't be racing in a week and a half.

There are some but they were not going to make it anyway....not unusual since it is next to last event and milers will declare if they can in case they get tripped in mile for example
