Hodgkinson ran 1:57.18 to break her own British record and win the World Indoor Tour Final in Birmingham.Website: http://flosports.link/3p20lTjSubscribe: htt...
She is in good shape right now and is poised to take the crown at outdoors. Mu needs someone breathing down her neck and I think Keely is very very close to beating her this year. I hope it happens. Keeps the sport interesting.
Yes. Of course. We want to see sports competitions. Athing Mu has been unbeatable (literally) and if that continues, it is "cool" but also not as exciting. I want to see head-to-head battles against a real rival. I want Keely to win a few of their match-ups and create a real Coe vs. Ovett vibe.
It is the same with Femke Bol and Sydney McLaughlin. We want the rivalry. We want to see Alison Dos Santos to beat Warholm because it makes the sport more interesting! (Dos Santos is sadly injured, by the way.)
We like Dos Santos, Femke, Yared Nuguse, and Keely because they all race a lot and are outgoing and personable. We can relate to them because they are the type of people we like: outgoing, engaging, positive. Sydney and Mu don't race much and are not as "entertaining" but we still respect them for their brilliance on the track.
p.s. Not everything is about racism.

typo, as usual.
Your take presumes that Mu won’t get better this year. I wouldn’t make such a presumption.
Fair enough. I hope you are right!
But if you had to wager real money, would you bet that Mu is going to run under 1:56, in the 1:56s, or slower than 1:56 this year as a seasons best? What would you guess? Keep in mind, her PR is 1:55.21 (so we know she can run faster than 1:56).

I think it’s a good bet Mu runs 1:55 or faster this year. She ran 1:55.04 two years ago as a teenager, and she ran 1:56 last year after dealing with covid. If Mu is healthy, I can easily see her running 1:54 this summer after celebrating her 21st birthday.
We haven't seen Mu since LAST JULY which is a very long break especially at her age, I wonder how motivated she feels right now as she already has an Olympic gold. Anyway last summer was a pretty odd season for the W8 so who know what will happen this year. We weren't really expecting Moraa to emerge at the very top so maybe someone else will join the trio?
Another British record in the 800 meters 1:57.18....wow. What will she do outdoors?
I think sub-1:56 for sure. She’ll get into a race with better pacing/race dynamics. There’s been something to nitpick (often not her fault) that has stopped her from hitting 1:56 in each race, but the fitness is there.

For someone who is turning 21 years old next week just broke the British Record a second year in a row (by 0.02 seconds albeit, It's hard to maintain consistency).
Ever since her first Outdoor Sub-2 in 1:58.89 (The same meet where Jacob Kiplimo hit 26:33.93 with no supershoes or wavelights :D !!) She has TWENTY-TWO SUB 2 800m...For the record Athing Mu has 11 and Jarmila Kratochvilova has 20 (Her 800m Career spanned for 5 years, Whilst Keely has barely two as a Pro).
Two Silver Medals (Olympic and Worlds) and She's the only one who poses a threat to Athing Mu. Hope you she gets the World Record in the future especially with her Indoor 600m Record!
She’s a bit stagnant. Wonder what she needs to change in training to beat Mu. I don’t think people realize Keely went 1:57.20 to 1:57.18 much older and experienced.

Apparently Mu has stagnated far more and actually has severely regressed so much that she can't even run. I wonder what Mu needs to do to come back to being anything noteworthy in womens 800. is she even top 100?
