Notable LOL results from the two grandpas of the track.
Centro - 4:06
Gregson - 4:14
What can i say, Aussies are the best
He looked so good doing it too.
Age record isn't it?
looks like 1500m is our best event, go aussies
Impressive result. Probably worth around 3:38? Anyone know when he turns 17? Curious if he will be able to take down Jakob's age record of 3:39. I remember he missed it by like .3 seconds a month ago or so.
SHOES!
Also TO THE GILLS!
June 9th
Apparently he ages up in June.
Would be impressive if he did, however it should be noted that Jakob then ran 3:31 at age 18.
Centro looked chunky. Wonder if he's been doing any mileage of note.
Centro has been training with Melbourne Track Club. He has been on the For the Kudos podcast the past 2 weeks and the indication I got was that was the first time he's done proper structured workouts in a long time.
I think he's on the up, but it's going to take a long dang time for him to get anywhere competitive. He was 14 seconds slower than Ollie tonight.
I thought Gregson was a road runner now?
When athletes barely through puberty are running as fast as former Olympic champions it is yet another reason why nothing in elite sport can be trusted. It seems Kenyans aren't the only runners now with a "natural genetic advantage".
You are a broken record. And now you are implicitly accusing a minor of doping.
Wow, that’s obviously impressive. What do we know about his training, current mileage, and background?
You know he can't be doping? You are aware that doping occurs in college sports?

What about when athlete runs 50 point for 400 as an 18 year old and then 45 as a 22 year old?

That's obviously a false analogy as Centro was clearly not same runner that won Oly Gold.
Ryun beat Snell less than a year after he won Gold. Does that mean Ryun was doping? There are a lot of people who think that with modern shoes and professional pacing he was capable of low 3:50s in HS. I don't know anything about this Aussie kid but there are actually athletes with a "natural genetic advantage" and I will reserve judgement until there some more evidence.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Jakob Ingebrigtsen has a 1989 Ferrari 348 GTB and he's just put in paperwork to upgrade it
Move over Mark Coogan, Rojo and John Kellogg share their 3 favorite mile workouts
Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
