How does a DMR altitude convert? 1200 and and 1600 are slowed by altitude. The 400 is faster and the 800 breaks even.
What does the NCAA convert a 7k feet DMR to?
well, it looks like you just said how to convert a DMR at altitude. what were their splits? take the splits, and figure out the conversions based off of that.

I'm aware of how you convert each split but I believe the NCAA has it's own conversion methods. I remember New Mexico ran a 9:33 DMR and it converted to 9:24
That was at 5k feet so 7k feet could yield an even bigger conversion. Probably high 9:20's

It has been awhile since I competed at NAU, but I recall the conversion for the mile being around 9 seconds. The 1200 is probably 3-4 seconds. 800 is about .5 seconds and 400 is nothing. That should give you a pretty rough estimate.
What converter did you use? I have a program that I downloaded from the NCAA site years ago in which you enter the location and the time. There is no 7000' but for Flagstaff (indoor = 6877'), a 9:40.00 converts to 9:25.36. Obviously almost identical but I'm just curious since two of you got the exact same 9:26.02 time.

I used the converter program that I downloaded as well and I got 9:26.03 which is what I posted last night before the results were on tfrrs. The official tfrrs conversion ended up being 9:26.02. Not sure if they have updated their conversion formulas or there is a rounding difference some how. Either way, they are not in the top 12. Sucks to be LSU!
Ah, I just put 9:40.68 into the program and it popped out 9:26.03. TFFRS must use the same converter program.
Obviously not, because TFFRS posted 9:26.02. One of you is way off.
I have long thought the conversions from Altitude for athletes who do almost all their work at Altitude and for years..is way way too liberal..just my view. It certainly should not be 14 seconds? They are not getting in anyway..it appears even with that gift of an adjustment..LOL
