A company doesn't get clout or voting power by employing robots, and humans that are employed will work to maintain the system that supports them because they have a vested interest in its continued existence (whether they like it or not).
How would inflation be controlled in a situation with UBI? It seems to me that companies would just increase prices to claim the extra money floating around.

UBI is a terrible concept - at minimum for the fact that people need jobs and purpose, for reasons completely aside from compensation.

Maybe YOU need a job to give your life purpose, but there are many people who would have a wonderful meaningful life without having a job to define their life's purpose.

We need to do a better job in the education system of preparing kids for the realities of the current job market.

The point isn't that humans need to work a job per se in order to have purpose - the point is that humans need to stay occupied or else their social structure will fall apart because our social structure is built around the constant work that prehistoric survival required. Our brains are not well equipped to idle. You might very well be able to live a meaningful wonderful life without a job, but is that true for everyone all the time?
