So did Katir!
Coevett's favorite!
Freakin’ hilarious!
Looked like he dug deep, dizzy after finishing
No one will bother debating oxygen levels at indoor T&F meets today versus 50 years ago. Fifty years ago, many or most at indoor arenas were smoking, including cigars. What are oxygen levels today at indoor arenas compared to 10 years ago? Are arena owners/managers juicing arenas with oxygen? Why aren't we seeing 275 plus pounds men suffering acute higher elevation symptoms at arenas above 5000ft. elevation? Basketball players.
This is what super shoes and a hi tech track surface can do!
Plenty of down arrows but none of you seem able to argue rationally. If it were fast shoes and/or fast tracks, records would fall in sprinting events: 60m to 800m. Record breaking is occurring 1 mile and longer. Events in which elevated levels of oxygen will produce superior performances. Someone put a bug in the head of most on here regarding shoes and the rest follow like lemmings.
the shoe tech provides more benefits as you move up in distance because the duration of the race allows for the benefits to compound among other factors. Are you John Marcus?
I wonder if he'll give up the steeple.
On the contrary, I think this will give him more confidence to push the pace earlier on to take the sting out of El Bakkali's legs.
But that's just me..
No reason to do so. He and El Bakali are so much better than the other steeplers that he’s basically guaranteed no worse than silver just for showing up.
He should consider the 3kSC/5k double in Budapest since the schedule allows for it.
Katir couldn't do an out-kicking at the end simply because he didn't had enough fuel. He was exhausted by the pace.
- So Girma, what is your training secret?
- Actually, I think cross training like all these guys in Europe is pretty good, this is also what I do, I do a lot of hurdle jumps on a distance equal to the distance I race the best, and it works pretty well to keep some strenght at the end."
- Any other remark?
- Well, I am negotiating with Mo Katir to know how much he owes me for being is personnal 3k pacer for him to break the European and previous World Records on the 3k. Should be hefty, I did a heck of a job myself.
Katir broke the indoor and outdoor European records of the 3000m in the same time.
The previous was made by A. Mechaal.
And an even older European record was made by M. Mourhit (Aouita discovery of end 80s).
That's a lot of documents to investigate for someone like CoEvett.
Oh, he'll be going straight home to refuel.
Incredible

What is a reasonable time to expect for the steeple with this kind of flat speed?
Is it reasonable to expect that he is in world record shape? Its only 30 seconds difference- not sure if the barriers ought to add more or less time than that.
