This subject comes up every now and then on these boards, and rightly so. Something never really sat right with me about that whole situation. I wasn't close to David, but met him a couple of times and he just struck me a really good fun-loving dude. I really think this is one of the more tragic events in US elite running that has occurred in recent memory.
31 year old elite athlete testifies against a dirty coach, receives death threats, then despite being a strong swimmer is found floating at the bottom of a pool. Police seemed more interested in closing the case based on the possibility of a cardiac event, than they were in getting a warrant to look into the threats he received via Facebook. LRC had a really good article about this a while back, linking to it below:
While the medical examiner's report and the Scottsdale PD ruled Torrence’s death an accidental drowning, David's mother, Bianca Torrence, is frustrated because she feels investigators didn't seriously consider another possibl...

If D T was murdered, how? We have gone over and over this on other threads. In U.S. criminal courts, county, state or federal, Motive is not necessary to prove but Letsrun amateur private investigators have offered Motive regarding D T's death. Just because you happened to see D T across the bar at happy hour one time does not mean anything. Give us some evidence. Motive is not enough. Let D T Rest in Peace.

Well, lucky for us this isn't a criminal court is it? It's a running message board. Weird, sad, and tragic things get discussed here ad nauseam all the time. If you don't like it or feel that it denigrates his memory, you can just keep on scrolling or ask LRC to take the thread down.
I do hope you understand that no one has to provide you a method of murder, in order to discuss the botched approach that Scottsdale PD took to the investigation, the threats made to John Cook, and the reality that his toxicology and autopsy reports can only speculate as to what caused his drowning. Lots of unanswered questions here, whether you like it or not.
Torrance works with famous coach Jana A., realizes he is dirty as sin, and takes down doper coach. Coach threatens to kill him on Facebook, and is found dead at the bottom of a pool in Scottsdale despite being in fabulous shape and a good swimmer.
Enter Scottsdale PD of Maricopa County. Dead brown guy in pool, doesn't even bother to conduct a proper investigation. No one, noe even family members are allowed to access Facebook messages from Aden threatening to kill Dave Torrence. All because the Scottsdale/Maricopa County PD doesn't give a F about dead brown guys.
If you want answers, someone needs to sue Facebook + perhaps the PDs, and open up DT's messenger.

Did you need a new thread? Bringing it up because you are a bored and insensitive jerk? I'd ask you if you have new evidence of foul play but there never was evidence of foul play was there?
You irritate people. What does that have to with David T? * Did county coroner say his death was other than natural? * What about law enforcement? Are they hiding information? You are a Brit living in Poland. What do you know about a death in U.S?

Wow, calm down dude. Anyone would think you have a vested interest in this.
There is an old thread here in which David T posts and things get very heated. One guy in particular uses language that could be construed as a threat. We know he received death threats on Facebook.
A professional runner receives death threats for exposing doping, and soon after is found dead at the bottom of a pool, and you're upset there is a new thread on it??
Hopefully the mods haven't deleted that old thread, wouldn't surprise me though.

Can you find the old thread please? Would be helpful. Also, I was unaware of death threats on Facebook. Do you have links to anything detailing that?
