Not if you're the coach of the elite college team, like NAU, you're not. If you're Mike Smith, you can afford to redshirt a superstar recruit like Sahlman. Assuming Sahlman matched his outdoor PR (which in my experience is somewhat rare), he would be like a fringe AA or low-AA type of guy.
