I have a close friend going through a divorce that started out amicable and now 1.5 years later has turned nasty.

This usually happens when one or both want to see other people. Otherwise, there's no clear reason to break.

This is beyond pathetic.

(1) you’re a parent, meaning you don’t want to mess up your kids lives
(2) you love your spouse and are best friends with him
(3) your money is good.
and you’re getting divorced?

It’s called a mid life crisis. Go to couples therapy.

$1000 after the divorce he shacks up with a woman much younger than him and she shacks up with a man much older than her.

They will each be just as miserable as they were before.

only difference is that their kids will be MORE miserable, bc they have selfish parents who DGAF

1) You may not have all of the information on their relationship to offer an informed opinion.

2) Not everyone is going to have the same opinion on how to manage relationships.

I was surprised to see the announcement made shortly after the book coming out bc she’s likely going to get asked about the divorce while doing publicity for the book & it may take attention away from the book.
I read her book & in her story it seems like outside Jesse she hadn’t been in any other relationships before marriage. Maybe there’s some regret on both sides for not dating more in their youth. And I don’t mean this bad but it wouldn’t shock me at all if her next partner is a woman

If there's children under 18, a divorce should potentially be considered child abuse but if a divorce ends a toxic relationship that was already hurting the child/ren it may also be necessary. Bottom line is failure has been reached by both parties and vows broken. You either picked sh.it for a partner/wife/husband and/or the two parties are no longer amicable together.

The thing about choosing to make your personal life a big part of your "brand" as an influencer/entrepreneur is that when you inevitably encounter difficult situations or changes that most people would want to keep private, you have more pressure to address them publicly. Otherwise, people will ask questions or jump to conclusions. You want to get out in front of the comments sections and create your own narrative, preferably one that maintains the integrity of your Brand. And so we see a standard, sh*tty divorce portrayed as an "evolution" of a romantic relationship into something much higher and healthier than most normies could conceive of.

We all know the truth. They are going through a very bad time and they are dealing with it in an unfortunately cringe way. No need to speculate further.

This is true about ‘branding,’ I’m just wondering what became so obvious publicly that they felt the need to make a statement on social media while Lauren is doing heavy promo for her book.

Im sure he/she has already moved on to someone else. Nobody gets divorced without already having another option waiting in the wings.

Dude is lucky he's young and rich, he will have his choice of women.

Shame for their kids but people get divorced every day, people move on and deal with it.

I have a sibling who is bi but married to a man, and it has caused strain in their marriage. She has also said to me that if the hubs died or divorced her, she's be with a woman next.

To be honest, all our lives I knew her to be attracted to women. So, I was kind of surprised when she dated men or eventually married a man, but it's not my journey, and I'm not in her head.

Gotta agree with the "branding" folks. They have benefitted from having such public lives, but here is when it gets very inauthentic or tough.
