She has a long graceful stride and looked strong running the 500. A little more endurance training and she’d be ready to run the 800 on Pure Hate.

I agree. I do't normally agree with somebody switching events if they are one of the top in the world already but I would like to see her try it a few times. I think she has a 1:54 in her.

lol
Yes! In my fantasy track world, everyone would run the 800.
I secretly wish I were able to get all the 400m hurdlers (Femke, Sydney, Karsten, Rai Benjamin, Dos Santos, etc.) and magically get them to run an 800m. I would also have loved to see Van Niekerk run one at his peak. He was so lean!

Where do you nuts come up with these wacky predictions?
There was probably a female 400m hurdler who ran a really good 800m, I am not aware of any though. (Probably because the 400m hurdles women until recently was so niche that it was easy wins/medals compared to flat 400 or 800m.) There were two or three male hurdlers who ran 1:44 (Schmid among them) but they are also rare. So I'd guess that Bol might run a pretty good 800m but not easily into world class (i.e. 1:58 or faster).
He might have been lean, but he was also in sub 10, sub 20 shape over 100/200.
Worth remembering that the best 4/800 doubler was built like a tank - Juantorena
Those of the certain age will remember that when Juantorina came along, it was generally accepted that big strong athletes were the future of the 800m. Now, guess who smashed Juantorina's record? 5ft 9in 130pds Seb Coe.
I'd put a lot of money on Femke running very fast at 800m, and the presence of Sydney at 400 might make the switch happen.
17 year old Roisin Willis ran 1:59. What makes you think that Bol wouldn't absolutely demolish her?
At some point, Femke will beat Sydney in a 400m hurdle race. That will crush Syd mentally. Then Femke will become the top dog in the event.

I love me some Fem Kee-Bol but nobody, nobody is more dominant in their event that Syd. Not even Karsten. Even Mondo and Crouser lose from time to time. Nobody in Syds league in 400H. For Femke, the question is, what if Syd leaves hurdles altogether? Boat loads of gold medals await Bol as their is a huge drop off to 3rd best. So do you run the 4 with syd? Heck no. 800? I dont know she runs like a gazelle but have to see her run one. I honestly believe if she wants medals she should watch what Syd does and do the opposite.
She has no desire to run the 800. "It's too far for me." Go to about the 8:20 mark in the interview.
If she ran the 8 at the Olympics she might win.
Watch (re-watch?) the race. Look at her form. Her stride was so fluid, she never really looked like she was at her limits.
My first thought was that she should try the 800.
What's wrong with an athlete doing more than one event?
Mid D runners mix it up and even double.
It would be a risky chess move but a good one for sure.

More likely if she ran the 8 at the Olympics she might be lucky to get out of her first qualifying heat.
Why does everyone assume that she would be so good in the 800? Mu, Hodgkinson, Moraa, Muir, and just about every top 800 runner would not have too much of a problem beating her.
I'm not hating on Bol. I like her a lot. She's a great athlete. Some of you, though, have unrealistic expectations, don't know a lot about the sport, or both.
She just needs to make the final & her kick the last 100m would be goodbye.
Maybe not the 800, but she could probably take out Hodgkinsons 600m best
