Sophie O'Sullivan lead off in 3:16, not sure about the 400. It may have been Carly Thomas on 800 - not sure about that either. Gibson on 1600 maybe or maybe Heisterman? I don't know their athletes that well and they did not announce the legs.
4 teams under current 12th in ncaa, nice run from McCabe and Kennesaw St was 4th in 11:05, they found partners for Hendricks. They will just miss staying top12, but surely school and league records.
Congrats to Huskies, they've had talent for a few seasons, now getting it just right!
Jonathan Gault saw it live. He's trying to interview some of them now. 2nd place was 10:59.09.
The names on the website are wrong. Here the splits.
3:16.24 - Sophie O'Sullivan 54.21- Marlena Preigh (5her college pb is 59.07 but she ran 56.32 in HS in 2019) 2:01.93 - Carley Thomas (Her pb is 2:02.75) 4:34.26 - Anna Gibson (Her mile pb is 4:32.34)
Washington has broken the 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐃 in the Distance Medley Relay in Boston‼️
Well, they might have to make a choice as Thomas is #6 on 800 list and Gibson is #2 on mile list. O'Sullivan is #10 on 3000 list but that time might not hold up - but it is on day 2 anyway.

See this is why Tuohy should never run in the DMR, their team gonna get crushed!
On paper that makes sense in light of UW’s great run tonight. But keep in mind that Tuohy could run a much faster 1600 anchor and it would be fun to see the chase. That said it’s looking more like 3k/5k for her now.
NC State could beat that time - lead off with Tuohy - 3.15, then a 55sec 400 (anyone), then a 2.10 800m (again anyone), then close with Tuohy again (so a 3 minute recovery) in 4.25 = 10.45. Piece of cake.

Thomas looked very good running 2:01.9 all by herself. Ditto for Gibson on anchor. O'Sullivan had Allie Cash for a pacer for 800 I believe.
Gibson has now run 3 indoor 'miles', sub 4:35, very consistent and a lock to qual indoor w/4:31 mark.
I'm getting less enthused about NC st's dmr. We'll see Chmiel (my pred 8:55 3k) and Bush (4:33 mile pred latching on to Tyynismaa) tomorrow to get a fitness read, but they still appear to be missing a 400 leg.
I still think now we'll still see an 'a' team at either jdl dmr meet or acc, but probably not both. Then most likely they put in a 'b' team at NCAA, and give Bush, Chmiel and Tuohy their optimal shot at individual placing and more teammates a chance to compete.
3:16 leadoff? Stanford XC Instagram account claimed the other day that Cranny 3:18.2 was the fastest ever in the NCAA. So did that just get crushed tonight, or is that stat off?

That's funny bro, but anyone can run the first three legs, just let Tuohy run a sub 4:20 mile and its good for an NCAA record.

Is this even a legit record? They got paced by someone who's not even part of the race?

I don't know where those stats can be looked up, but was wondering the same thing. Whittaker ran #2 all time in 3:18 high.
If true, O Sullivan just ran an all time 1200 leg. What is her main event? Will she run the mile?
The Huskies ran 10:46.62 to better the mark set by Oregon in 2017. Website: http://flosports.link/3p20lTjSubscribe: http://flosports.link/3p4YLQpGet the FloS...
