NC State's Katelyn Tuohy chats with NCAA.com's Stan Becton about her chase for the indoor 3K and 5K crowns. #shorts #collegetrack #KatelynTuohy #trackandfiel...
Tuohy ran 4:24 early in the season, that shows she's on another level. She will only get better and faster. College competition will make her stagnate, Pro competition will make her better and faster.
The way I took her words in that clip was to mean that "this" (indoors) was the last of the three seasons (cross country, indoor, and outdoor) that she hadn't yet won an NCAA title ("gotten one"). I think she means she'll have a trifecta of titles across fall, winter, and spring if she can win a title at indoor NCAA nationals this year, not necessarily that she won't be competing in any more seasons after this year.

Tuohy always want to challenge herself, she's very competitive. She won't stay in college. She's graduating a year early so everything plays out well.
"I guess this is the last season, to get (championship) one in."
keyword is "guess" so there is no final decision, but if tuohy breaks all the records and goes sub 15 with no collegiate runner competing with her, there is really no point of staying

College distance running tears her body more than pro distance running. She should go pro as soon as possible.
As a college runner, she has to run two seasons straight with indoor and outdoor, then a short summer break, then back again to build up miles for the cross season, so much racing and running at the college level.
As a pro runner, she does not need to race much and she will have more recovery time.

Idk. She has NIL too. I bet she runs XC '23 with her team. But I could see her opting out of track '24. Maybe it depends on how the spring goes and if she makes a world team this summer.

I agree. She’ll three-peat as a team in Cross Country and two-peat individual. Then she’ll forego the rest of college for pro training for the Olympics.
