Chris Farley just rolled over in his grave. Wonder what Dwayne Wade thinks? Not really because he doesn't care. Marquette has no business being a D1 school anymore. When is the last time they, if ever, did anything note worthy in the NCAA?

The name was changed from Warriors to Golden Eagles in 1994 when being “woke” just meant being aware and long before chuckleheads like you commandeered the term “woke” in a feeble attempt to use it as a derogatory term yet, in doing so, just made yourselves look like uneducated tool boxes.

Why did they change it? Warrior is a soldier. Warrior is someone who goes into battle/war.

Honestly, this is a smart move for almost any midmajor program. It’s not like you can hold a successful fundraiser around any of the Marquette home meets. If you can’t get top 5 at regionals nor qualify individuals to nationals with scholarships, might as well not get top 5 nor qualify individuals to nationals without them.

Yes and then go play with the D2 or D3 schools where they belong. Nothing wrong with that. Try to be the big fish in the small pond instead of being the little fish with all the other little fish in the big pond.

That's nothing to get thrilled about . Get back to me when they win a National championship like they did in 1977 with AL Mcguire as the coach. These days the country doesn't really get into college basketball until March madness. Jesuit should stick to academics.
