BTC connections are always susepct, why? Because one athlete was popped in 15 years?
Moving on, I will admit I am disturbed by the fact that I had the same thought, though.
I've always said I'd bet my life that the BTC is a clean group. But I'm not a moron, as a fan, you pretty much have to have a sliver of doubt about all performances that aren't your own or you aren't thinking logically.
Anyway, 1% of me thought when I was listening to that video and he mentioned how ON wasn't that interested, "Sounds like his contract was up or may be up for renewal. Is there a chance he went to the darkside for a few months to pop a good one and get a new deal?"
Not it's SICK that my brain contemplated that for even a sliver of a second but I must admit someone planted that idea with me for Ritzenhein 10 years ago when he seemignly popped a 2:07 out of nowhere in 2012.
They said to me, "You're a 30-year old who is no longer super relevant on the track who has run never broken 2:10 in the marathon in six tries and you just finished 4th in the marathon Trials. You have children to support. Your contract is expiring. You need a result. Are you telling me you wouldn't let Alberto massage you with a little androgel and just not ask questions?"
I can't remember who planted that evil thought in my head. If you recognize it, email me as you've made me a bit more of a cynic than I already naturally am.
Rojo, you are almost seeing the light. You are almost there.
Doping doesn't just involve one teammate....its usually a wider spread with active involvement by many members. Lots of examples historically where that has shown to be the trend.
I also was puzzled by Woody's passionate defense of Shelby. Why was he defending her?
Woody Kincaid openly discusses Shelby Houlihan's drug ban. This clip is part of Beer Mile Podcast Episode 41 with Woody. Link to full Woody Kincaid interview...
No one’s clean in running or endurance sports that are at or near the top. even amateurs are knowingly doping. you have to be an idiot to believe these people are clean. we should just accept it and move on. It makes the sport more exciting and relevant.
It's more like, "You are an elite runner competing at the top level and soon realize everyone beating you on the track IS doping. All the medalists, record winners, its everywhere. You are tired of losing to them as a clean runner, and since EVERYONE is doing it, it wouldn' be a moral issue to also dope (an "Eye for an Eye"). You wish everyone would just run clean, but since no one else is....you decide to start. You feel bad at first, but over time you rationalize its just an "unwritten rule" of distance running and the guilt completely goes away. you are surprised how well you are able to feel about it"
he's absolutely on something. I think klecker realized he was on pace to break the record then he slowed down the last lap because he knew he wouldn't pass a drug test. A pro like Klecker doesn't start sprinting already in the lead with 800 to go and then walk the last 200m.
How do you explain wejo? He did nothing throughout his entire career. His coach had zero success anywhere. He still doesn't. Then suddenly, wejo runs 28:06?
Stop your malicious speculation. It makes you look bad. When you point fingers at others there are 4 fingers pointing back at you.
Woody Kinkaid is exactly the profile of someone who was due for the big breakthrough. Had it not been for the Covid 19 bull-sht, he would have done it sooner. He was always a runner with a destiny.
About 2 years ago, wejo said that if drugs aren't performance enhancing, then we need to talk about it. But rojo doesn't want to talk about it because he thinks maybe it's bad for business. He has a point. Maybe it is, but then again, how can a mature adult be anti-doping if they are ignoring real Biology?
If you watch the video you’ll see that Klecker blew his load a little too early. He’s visibly hurting when he starts his last lap and then collapses past the finish line, totally spent.
I’ve gotta say that I’m also a little skeptical of Woody’s performance. Running a 12:51 is one thing but doing it with a 26 sec last 200 like it’s a sit and kick race is insane to me. He exploded past Klecker like he wasn’t even moving. Having that much left in the tank on a 12:51 seems suspicious.
The BU track is so bouncy...I would rather say that the track itself is doped. Results there are not really comparable to other. Probably worth 7 sec for a 5000m.

This guy gets it. Hate it if you want. But it’s the truth.
It's not the truth. You're all naïve. There is no superhuman metabolism beyond your natural ability, it doesn't exist in Biology. And the best distance runners don't have super high VO2 max values.
None of you people understand the oxygen economy concept. The fastest distance runners use less oxygen than you running 2.30 kilometers. None of you know this, but all of you should.

It’s not an either or situation.
It is very possible for BOTH Wejo AND Kincaid to be dopers.

Rojo you cannot be serious! You really don’t get how ubiquitous doping is at the highest levels of track and field and distance running in general? You think Kenyans are especially corrupt and not that talented? I ask this because they are incredibly talented and hardworking and many are doping. Having suspicion that top athletes are doping is not evil, it is a sign of intelligence. Maybe this helps explain your reaction to Shelby. For many of us it was more like “I am shocked shocked to find there is gambling going on in here.”
