No matter what she's a medalist from the most recent Olympics. I understand if that doesn't compare to your collection of hardware and your superhuman level of consistency along with your amazingly perfect body that never gets injured or ill but give her credit.
I certainly don't think she is in the elite field.

She IS elite.
You are correct. I retract that previous comment and will salute her being an Olympic medalist. kudos to her. Quite the accomplishment.
No offense but they went all the way to Japan to take a bunch of close-ups of her face? You can't see the streets of Tokyo or the cherry blossoms in the countryside or Mount Fuji or anything Japan-related.
I guess that's a cricism of the sunglasses company who did the photo shoot, not Molly herself, so don't hate me

See, I understood as "not being in the elite field" as she is not racing Tokyo, therefore she is not in the elite field.

Did you happen to see the whole photo shoot? Please share the link.

Mentions going back to Japan, she could be going for Nagoya rather than Tokyo

Interesting choice for her but makes sense. There'll be no pressure on her, very little media coverage, probably no broadcast in the US. She can just race and see where her fitness is it. If she went for Boston, she'd be in the spotlight which she probably doesn't need right now. Plus, it's always good to see Americans race abroad

LOL, have you ever been to Japan or seen a Japanese marathon covered?
Sorry, I meant coverage of Seidel personally. If she enters Boston, she's probably the star attraction and has to do a ton of media. She'll probably do very little out in Japan
