Women 400m H record is tough for readers of this site. U.S. has more sub-48 400m athletes than any nation. Reminder: women 400m hurdles aren't very hig
Doesn't a woman hold the south-going unsupported Appalachian trail world record?
Woman can sometimes do better at that extreme ultra stuff, having more stores of body fat and a lower center of mass. In particular bigger legs and smaller upper body so they can expend less energy long term.
The question is basically what are the strongest women's world records
Not necessarily, Kratochvílová's 800 WR is usually considered to be one of the strongest in the sport but many very good HS boys could easily go under that. Meanwhile no HS kid is capable of sniffing Gidey's half marathon WR.

Two points to note here. Firstly High Schools don't have half marathon championships lol. Secondly long distance events like the half marathon and above typically take years of endurance training to do well in. That's not at all the case for a talented 800m high school runner who could probably run close to a 1:53 off a solid years training.

I believe you meant to state: " ... no U.S. high school kid ... " We have U.S. guys banging their heads on brick walls, U.S. isn't a 3000mSC TT Marathon nation. Distance records look difficult to U.S. 3000mSC to ... runners. On Let'ssprint in Ethiopia and/or Uganda, they are discussing how difficult it is to sprint sub-22 200m.

But they said men, not school kids.
Doesn´t make much of a difference. How many US men run faster than 1,53? Many. How many run faster than 1.02? Not so many.

Just because HS boys don't often run the marathon doesn't mean they couldn't crush her time. You don't think Jakob could have run under 1:03 when he was 17 and ran a 13:02?
