Klosterhalfen ran ~4:05 1500m in her two last years that were injury/illness-ridden, therefore substandard and also focussing more on 5000m and longer, so Tuohy might have a fighting chance in a 1500m. But even in below best shape, Klosterhalfen runs 8:40 and 14:50, in good shape she runs sub 14:30/sub 8:30. Tuohy will not have chance for a another few years in anything 3000m or longer.
Coco, her nickname, is in a different class. After watching her 10k race in a German National record, I can see how incredibly talented she is. Love watching her run. She is very fluid and graceful.

Doesn't look like they are close in times now. Koko is 5 years older, but looking at where she was 5 years ago she was faster than Tuohy was this year.
Klosterhalfen ran at 19 (2016) very similar times as Tuohy did last season but 2017 was a huge breakthrough and one the best years any 20 year old had, so one cannot expect Tuohy to get there so quickly. I also think Klosterhalfen was a faster 800/1500m runner at 16-18 (I think her first national medal was 2nd in the u18 800m 2013) on comparably low mileage as a teenager and cranking up mileage and adding altitude training brought her to sub 2, sub 4, sub 15 at 20 yo. She was also not forced to race for a college team but basically a professional at 20 (although she joined NOP only after the 2018 season).
You may be right. Coco is a little older and is very fluid in her running. Right now, I don't see a good comparison. In a few years, I think we will see some great matchups I hope.
Klosterhalfen does not have a kick, and everybody knows that if you do not have a kick, you will lose 80% of races against opponents with the same PR as you.
I would love to see these two race. Who would win? This would be one of the best competitions for women distance right now.
It might be exciting for Americans, but it wouldn't be that exciting for the rest of the world.
Tuohy's PB for 5000m is only 15.15.92. Last year in the UK alone, we had 5 women who ran faster than that. Tuohy wouldn't even have qualified for the World Championships 5000m for the UK. Her PB was more than 30 seconds slower than our fastest runner over the distance last year.
My guess is Klosterhalfen would win at every Distance 1500- Marathon Currently
1500- Klosterhalfen 3:58.92 Tuohy Might run that fast in her Career will be Close. Toss Up, slight Edge Klosterhalfen
3000 Klosterhalfen 8:20 Tuohy is VERY unlikely to run that time, She might run under 8:30 for a Career best. Edge Klosterhalfen
5-Klosterhalfen 14:26, My guess is Tuohy runs 14:31-14:39 in her Career Edge Klosterhalfen
10- Klosterhalfen 31:01 Tuohy will run faster than that but Klosterhalfen will likely beat that as She is what 25-26 Years old edge Klosterhalfen
Half Marathon Klosterhalfen ran 1:05.41 in Her Debut, I think Tuohy will be Very good at this Will likely run faster than the Current American Record of 67.11 and American Best 66:57 on a slightly Downhill Course, Edge Klosterhalfen.
I think Clearly Klosterhalfen is better, but beating her times would be a great goal for the talented Tuohy, But Remember Klostterhalfen is likely to Improve on some of her best's as well.
