JAPANESE begin prep for WWIII: Situation in Asia is ready to pop off

Japan since the 1880s has dedicated it's nation to the development of East Asia. It worked. Japan is solely credited for thr East Asia Economic Miracle. The East Asian area now dominates the world's economy. The Long Term view for Japan is to be cautious but patient as Xi Jin Ping goes through his processes. East Asia will prevail!

There are some Amazon drivers around my neighborhood that would make great Kamikaze pilots if they're willing to hire Americans.

Of course they know what is gonna happen. Putin invading Ukraine “showed the hand” of the axis of autocratic countries that are aligned out of self interest to throw the US-led order out: Russia, China, NK, Iran, maybe Turkey. Saudis and India hedging already shows that they don’t want to pick sides or anger the autocrats. Don’t derive enough benefit from US to instantly side with them.

Japan knows China would brutally squeeze and then dominate them, if they were to take control of Taiwan. Japan needs to stand with the US to continue their autonomy.

Humanity is not far removed from world War two. Couple that with the fact that troops are hoarded and weapons of mass destruction produced. Humanity has always been flawed and it would not surprise people to see a potential world War three amongst these apes. We can not escape our race--the human race and all it's flaws.

Japan is not worried. Just cautious. For over 120 years Japan has nurtured and created the wonderful prosperity in Asia by itself without any help with massive direct foreign education, manufacturing, and infrastructure investments through retail, institutional, and government yen loans, yen gifts, and yen guarantees. China is the largest. There are several millions of Japanese nationals who live in China.

Japan is merely looking after itself by building a strong deterrent force. Right or wrong, a legacy of Donald Trump policy is that it forced US allied nations to spend more of their own resources on national defense instead of relying solely on American benevolence and American taxpayer largesse. The upside is that it will shift more of the burden to the allies. The downside is that it will diminish US influence in regional affairs and decision making.

Nothing is about to “pop off”. Strong regional defenses against aggression keep that from happening. Unless you are Putin, no rational leader is prepared to start a conflict where the losses potentially outweigh any gains.

Allowing Japan to militarize is a bad idea. Their traditions have strict roles where the military is aggressive and the civilians and subjugated people are passive. They accepted defeat in WW2 very well because that's their tradition. Beaten fair and square.

Give their military some successes and it may not stop until beaten again.

This is right. Defense spending can prevent conflict, and it's great that Japan is getting with the program. (Though Xi may not be the rational leader we hope he is. He actually seems to have a lot in common with Putin, and he has far more power than any Chinese leader since Mao.)

We just need to get through the next decade, and China will be far less of a threat. They are on the verge of a demographic collapse that will devastate their economy, and the free world is on the verge of fielding new weapons that will shift the balance of power. In particular, the B-21 will have the stealth, range, and payload to effectively replace our aircraft carriers, which are highly vulnerable to Chinese anti-ship missiles. The B-2 could have served a similar role, but we only acquired a handful of them, and their maintenance requirements meant that they had to be kept on the U.S. mainland, whereas B-21s could theoretically be stationed just about anywhere: Hawaii, Guam, Okinawa.

I wish they would start building nuclear weapons. That would totally freak out China.
