Great running by both. I don't think their records will last as long as the ones they broke as Aussie distance running is on the up.
Brilliant! Sinead Diver just keeps getting better!
I believe Jack Rayner ran pacing for him until the 25km mark at exactly 3:00 per kilometre pace. Love to see lads getting around eachother
Sorry, I didn't see the live stream but did Robinson run the 2:07 at Valencia because his name isn't listed in the top 50.
She's 45. 46 in February. 2:21? Now I'm not pointing fingers, but you do have to wonder..... Low 5:20 pace for a 45-49 female? I would be skeptical if she ran a 10K at that pace.
So without pointing 👉 👈 any fingers you actually 👉 pointed 👈 fingers. Just saying
If you dial back the intensity and train correctly it's possible to stick around longer - another example would be the Portugese school (Lopes, Silva, Augosto, Moirera, et al).
Of course recent developments in footwear preserve the legs a bit, too.
Finally, as a very small woman with efficient mechanics you're not destroying your body like Fauble or Mottram (only time Fauble will be mentioned in the same sentence as Buster) or Ben True or even Rupp - larger guys who were technically professional for 10+ years but stopped improving / declined / got chronically injured after a while.
You only point fingers because you don't understand the sport.
People on this post are always saying someone who runs fast is doping. Rupp, Farah, all the Kenyans etc etc. Hell even the coverage of Valencia Marathon people were talking about the winners and doping. Therefore if this time of Diver's is such an outlier she too must be suspect of PED's. Same standard for all.
Clearly that's a drug aided performance.
99.9% of posters here haven't and couldn't run a 2:21. A 45 year old woman? These days? D R U G S.
End of story.
That's a masters women world record, and not by as much as you might think. Doesn't scream doping.
Carlos Lopes was 38, not 45. There's a big difference.
She broke the F45 record by 7 minutes.
Add to that, the fact that she didn't start running until she was 32 years old. So she's still relatively young in running years.
It's a wonder that anyone ever tries to achieve anything remarkable in running, given that the first response is always inevitably; "cheater!".
If Sinead is doping, then everyone's doping. There never was a more honest and genuine runner than her.
and she only became a professional athlete later in life. high 20's I believe so she's many years behind other prods in terms of beating and smashing her legs up
the armchair paranoia about doping on LR is out of control
sinead is an inspiration for anyone who didn’t grow up running. Myself included!
she is one of those very rare examples... did she ever do little aths or run as a junior?
