Riggs by 16 at 3.8k.
Ooof, she faded in her time per mile between 1 and 2. Hope she rallies
Bush gave away 14 places during 2nd mile.
And as soon as I wrote that Wilson goes in front of them. C'mon girls, run smarter.
Individual title wrapped up. Saratoga is losing their lead in the team battle
Oooops, regarding the flag ducking
Ouchhhhh, the flag situation cost her the record I think. Hope she's not too upset, she did have a good race despite fading with her 1 and 2 mile splits!
4 under 17 probably doubles the number all time
Riggs / Wilson / Michalak 1-2-3
Abby Ritz, future champ. Wind and flag confusion definitely cost Riggs the record.
And pacing
This post was removed.
I will check but these times in general look faster than most history. 17:40 I think was 3rd in 2017
Yeah, her first mile was a little overambitious
in 2013, Efraimson, Cranny & Baxter all broke 17.
For those who didn't see --
The camera golf cart was alongside runners, in a different track separated by flags. At one point maybe 700m? meters out, the flags stopped and it was unclear to Riggs which way to run. Def not her fault, unfortunate, but she crushed it regardless. Helluva run.
Saratoga / Niwot / Buchanan 1-2-3
Lone Peak not far behind
It was raining when Tuohy set the record. Nike being based in Oregon doesn't like to admit Portland is a terrible place to run meets as far as conditions go. Even the Pre classic is often bad weather.
