I was looking at the results for the big pro women's ekiden in Japan which is the marathon distance and noticed only 1 team beat the marathon WR. That seems like a low number.
Anyone know how hilly the course is? You'd think top pro teams with 6 runners could run a marathon faster tha 2:14.04 but here are the top 3 results via RRW.

1. Shiseido, 2:12:28 CR* (=3:09/km average pace)
2. Sekisui Kagaku, 2:14:29
3. Japan Post, 2:15:15
The 2023 results are in and I still have the same question as I've been unable to find an elevation chart. This year - no one broke the women's WR - but the women's WR is now of course 2:11:53 as compared to 2:14:04 last year.

PS. Who thinks it would be amazing tv to have Assefa race alone against all the teams?
It kind of reminds me of a video I saw on social media where 3 pro Japanese soccer players took on a team of 100 school kids.
If you scroll down on the link I have provided you can see the elevation for the course, though it is in Japanese.
The highest elevation in the race is 44m, but there is a lot of up and down sections with the third leg being the flattest.
